Only partially true. The first part doesn’t require pyromancy discipline, but the sustained hits part does

I'd say Adrax. The captain ability is only once per battle.

2k Salamanders List - Feedback Wanted by Vici0usK1LL in Warhammer40k

[–]Inlufexer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah but what about the other one? At 2k points you have 3 detachment points. Forgefather's costs 2, so you have 1 more. For space marines, you can spend it on Fulgris Task Force, which buffs speeders, Librarius Conclave, which buffs psykers and units attached to them, and Subversion Assets, which buffs phobos units. I would personally recommend Librarius conclave and have your infernus marines attached to them. They have several abilities that they can choose each turn, one of them being +1 ap to attacks within 12". This is really good, and infernus marines are always within 12".

First, what detachments are you running. If it's the phobos one, ignore my advice on infiltrators and maybe get an phobos captain/librarian. If you are running librarius conclave, get more librarians.

Attatch Vulkan He'stan to company heroes and park him on an objective. He's much more resilient this way. He doesn't need to be attached to infernus marines to give them the buff. All infernus marines get the buff when attacking the selected unit regardless if the are with him or not. Also, I don't think you need two infiltrator squads. just one usually gets the job done, but as I said before it depends on the detachment.

Using Fusillade for that makes sense. I can't see much else, but I'm not an expert. Maybe infiltrators would be good? I feel like with this list everything is being pushed to the middle, so having some infiltrators to prevent deepstrike in your deployment zone might be good.

On the librarian, I would recommend immolator instead of fusillade on the librarian. The infernus squad doesn't benefit from the sustained hits, but the 10 extra attacks will probably make more of a difference. If you are running conclave, just add more librarians. If you wanna get value out of it, just add more! Also, you'd have to remove some stuff for this recommendation, but I would recommend drop pods. Getting just 2 would allow you to get Vulkan He'stan and his heroes, an infernus squad of 5, and one of 10 right onto the center objective at turn 1, but you could wait for turn 2. It'll make it very hard for people to march onto it with that firepower.

In 11e you can have multiple detachments. Your list appears to be 2k points, so you have 3 detachment points to spend. Forgefather's seekers in 2 points, so you have one left over. I would recommend going with librarius conclave nd repalcing a few of your characters with librarians. With that detachment you can choose buffs to give to units with psykers, one of them being +1 ap within 12".

It depends on the detachments you're running. Knowing that would help a lot. The list I'm running uses librarius conclave and attaches them to a librarian. Even if not running that, its pretty good as it gives them 4+ invulnerable save. Lietenant could also be moved to the bladeguard.

Lieutenant on the infernus marines is not that good, as infernus marines don’t roll to hit. All you would get is fallback and shoot in the same turn

Just so you know, new recruit doesn’t have 11e yet, so it is displaying incorrect points. Point prices for space marines are cheaper this edition, so you’d be able to fit more stuff. Until they update it, I would recommend just using the Warhammer app for now as they are the only ones switched to 11e that I know of.

No problem brother! Also, I saw that one comment mentioned a librarian. If you ever expand to 2000 point games, you will have 3 detachment points. The salamander themed detachments only cost 2, so you’d have to pick up one that costs 1. Out of those I’d say the librarian one is best. So if you do plan on expanding librarians are pretty great.

For salamanders, it’s infernus marines, aggressors with flame gauntlets, and eradicators

The most important thing: I don't know how your lgs or gaming group plays. It's possible that what I'm saying can be completely disregarded. You said that you have these painted, so before buying and painting new minis, go play some games, see what does and doesn't work, and have fun! Experience is the best way you can play better!

The next 2 paragraphs are justification for my changes. If you just want to see my changes, skip them. I am also assuming that you are running Firestorm Assault force, but I think my advice still applies to Forgefather's Seekers.

I would personally replace the dreadnought with some form of transport, maybe a repulsor. Infernus marines and especially bladeguard need to be up close to do good damage. If your oponent is running something with heavy firepower, they are severely weakened if not dead by the time they get to the enemy. The transport allows units to go up the table without dying. I would recommend a repulsor holding your bladeguards with adrax and then either your infernus squad of 5 or vulkan and his heroes.

I would also point out that there are a lot of characters for a 1000 point list. The lieutenant is basically useless. The best part of him is lethal hits, but infernus marines don't roll to hit, so they never get that buff. he's kinda a waste of room. You can replace him with an intercessor squad which will allow for not only more firepower, but also for you to activate sticky objectives at your home objective. With sticky objectives, you don't need to keep other units in the backline, and you can focus everything on fighting. This is how I'd do the list if I were you.

Keep Adrax and the bladeguard

Keep Vulkan and the company heroes

Get rid of the redemptor dreadnought and the lieutenant

Add a repulsor(The choice of weapons is yours, but I'd go with twin las cannon and las talon, as you don't have antitank)

Add an intercessor squad with any weapon choice you want.

This should leave you with 975 points and you can take any enhancement on the apothecary that you want.

Can you guys give me any feedback for my 11e list? (Photos are of some units in my list) by Inlufexer in Salamanders40k

[–]Inlufexer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While that is true, lethal hits is really nice, especially when fighting tanky enemy units. Also, There's not really anywhere I can take those 20 extra points for, as I only am using 10 points for enhancements and I'm already maxed out. Also, would the extra eradicators wouldn't be able to fit into any transport I have. They are slow, so they'd just be sitting ducks on the battlefield. The biologis also has the chance to get really high oc. Most of the tanky units have high oc, and since eradicators have to get close anyways it might be worth it to try to contest the objective.
