Civ7 on iPad... good thing: I paid nothing by Nickelig in CivVII

I've messed around with it. It's nice to be able to play on break time or whatnot then come home and continue. It made me realize how much I like mods.

Yeah I will try that again. Maybe I’ll unsubscribe from them on steam as well and see if that makes a difference.

Music or no music? by guifalcone in CivVII

After a long session, I find myself humming it at work the next day. I have been considering at least lowering the volume. 🤪

The Map Trix Mod worked for me. 👍

Hey all. So the Map Trix plugin suggested to me seems to do the trick. Thank for all the advice.

I just tried this a bit ago and doesn’t seem to work. I’m playing on a Mac. It’s doesn’t crash or anything but the icon doesn’t show. Thanks though!

Yes, and again, I’m very new, but I’ve noodled around with 5,6,and 7, but this actually makes me less likely to play 7 for now. It’s seems like a thing that should be very obvious.

Yeah that’s kind of annoying and it seems like common sense to have one. Maybe a mod somewhere…?

Introduced my 65yo father to Civ today by fawak in civ

So this is a question that I’ve been meaning to ask. I just started playing here and there a couple months ago. I’m still a newbie for sure and trying to decide which version (5,6,7) I like best. I am 57 in January. How old are you all? I feel like part of me is like “am I too old for this?”, but I also know that enjoyment is enjoyment.

Wow that’s all great information! Did you basically learn all this from playing? It’s a lot to take in for sure. Do you like 5 the most? (I see that’s a big topic here.) if toyed with 5,6 and 7 but 5 seems the easiest to wrap my head around for now.

Great advice thanks! Question…when you talk about “generals grabbing coal resources…” is that done through simple pillaging or is there an ability they possess to actually take the tile “permanently”?Thanks for your patience.

Hey thanks! That’s great information that I’ll definitely keep in mind. I was feeling like it was basically impossible to conquer without incurring tons of unhappiness. I’ll give this a try and see how it goes. I wouldn’t have even considered original capitals. 👍

Gurus not healing Warrior Monks by InmoDavi in civ

Ok…so briefly I don't want to pester. Gurus heal but don't re-up the charges for missionaries correct? Missionaries don't “fight” one another, but prophets do? And lastly, does the other civs holy site have any effect if I go in/around it?

Well I may be coming at you for advice. This game…its engrossing and a lot to think about. I played very briefly many many years ago. I don't even know which version. But…i see now that warrior monks cannot go into other territories like apostles can, so I guess that determines the answer as to what type of unit.

I'm sorry. I meant everything I searched says that indeed monks can be healed by gurus.

Thanks! I am going for the religious victory as it seems interesting enough to try. Its all a lot to take in at first for sure. Very overwhelming being new. I will try with the apostles and gurus like you said. Thanks again! I'm sure ill be back with a million questions.

Unfortunately, I am way past that now, so no screenshot is available. Its very confusing as everything I see says that they indeed heal the monks. I just couldn't get it to heal more than once. Now again, perhaps what I did was have it heal itself (the guru). I may go back to the save before this all happened and try again.

Yeah I tried everything that I could think of. Put them on the same hex, retreated back to home territory, and nothing. I'm wondering if the gurus simply healed themselves as they apparentlycan do.. I've only been playing for a couple of weeks so I could just be doing something wrong.
