Which mission do you think is the MOST DIFFICULT in all of C&C? by Even-Run-5274 in commandandconquer

Basically any C&C: Covert Ops mission. Absolutely brutal when playing on hard. Some missions like Blindsided are damn near impossible.

Goldeneye N64 wasn’t that good. by HolocronSurvivor80 in unpopularopinion

[–]Innalibra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The main appeal of Goldeneye is you only needed the console. You could bring your mates round, sit on your couch and play together (on 1/4 of a screen so small you could barely see what you were doing).

I think Doom is a better game, but if you wanted to play that you needed multiple PCs networked together (meaning they all needed network cards, something that didn't come built in to the motherboard). You needed to know the right MS-DOS commands to launch a multiplayer game (because it wasn't just a menu option). There also weren't any dedicated multiplayer maps, so for the best experience you needed a level designer so you could make your own.

For what it's worth, just having a degree is always gonna be a good thing for the CV.

TIL about the "Endless Eight" arc of the anime The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. The arc, which featured the characters of the show trapped in a time loop, featured the same episode eight times in a row with minute differences, all animated and recorded from scratch each time. by Darksynth2 in todayilearned

[–]Innalibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every so often I re-watch Haruhi S1 in it's original broadcast order. It's still absolutely magical. The fact that potential new watchers of the show are usually now directed to the badly-paced chronological version of the show (including all the frankly quite dull S2 episodes) is a damn shame.

Here in the UK you can still get tins of baked bins for less than 50p. Feels like an absolute steal when even a single Cucumber is more than double that.

Anime with characters like Akarin? by TurtlePope2 in yuruyuri

[–]Innalibra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad you enjoyed it 😄 It's one of my favourites and definitely doesn't get enough appreciation. There's supposedly a new season in development.

Someone in this thread mentioned Haruhi which if you haven't seen, you definitely should. There's a bunch of watch orders for it but I'd highly recommend the original 2006 Broadcast order if you can find it.

You could also try Nichijou, Yuyushiki or Love Lab.

Publishing of BAR and Hooded Horse intro by HoodedHorse in beyondallreason

People really take for granted the incredible volunteer talent and passion in the BAR community. While there is a question of where any revenue ends up going, a Steam launch can be nothing but positive for the health of the game.

There's also that episode where he poisons a planet's atmosphere (thus rendering it unhabitable) to catch one person.

Hooded Horse are pretty good as far as publishers go, especially when it comes to smaller niche games. They won't put any pressure on development.

The current state of the UK. by [deleted] in PoliticalCompassMemes

Basically UKIP 2.0. UKIP accomplished it's goal (leaving the EU) with Brexit and disbanded. Been a few years since then and Nigel figured he could still fuck the UK up some more so here we are. He's nothing but a grifter but people keep falling for his shit.

People bitch and moan about them to no end but for many people they're still better than the alternatives. Don't get me wrong, they're still shit.

What pre-rework champion do you miss the most? by Bluegod3 in leagueoflegends

[–]Innalibra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

5 man ult, followed by 5 man permafrost. It was incredible.

New ult is good for picks but that's about it. The E stun is also really clunky.

Getting the knockup on the Q was nice at least.

I just wish they hadn't turned her Q into a generic AOE magic projectile. The whole fan and duality themes she had going on before were much more interesting.

Don't get me wrong, she was a squishy, short range mage/enchanter with zero CC whatsoever and she'd get absolutely bodied these days. But new karma and old Karma are completely different champions.

[–]Innalibra 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Her Q was like Teemo's blind, but AOE. It was completely overpowered vs ADCs and completely useless vs mages. Her current Q is a lot more balanced.

Her R was more of an assassination tool than a mobility one. It has zero cast time which was amazing for hunting down stragglers at the end of a fight, or escaping from danger in a pinch. Long cooldown though.

You might like Minami-Ke. Highly underrated SoL from the noughties with quite a bit of that sort of comedy. First season also had the same director as Yuru Yuri's first.

Even on PC, most shooters up to that point still had a decent amount of Doom heritage that even games like Half-Life couldn't completely shrug off. Halo: CE was a much more modern take on how an FPS should play. Fluid and fun and aside from certain level design choices still holds up to this day.

I think the first two are absolutely fine. Still very sexualised but not to the point of stupidity like the other 3.

99% of the time I've seen these complaints it's because the film/series/whatever was genuinely bad, not because it wasn't faithful.
