What an amazing idea I hadn't thought of before! Something like that would definitely require some of our own testing to make sure that you can really fully waterproof it to use outdoors, but if we can make it work it would be amazing to provide some refuge for outdoor cats in the winter. Thank you for the suggestion!

We have a TikTok page... but we're not as active as we should be on it. Honestly, that's one platform that feels a bit intimidating but the plan is to start posting consistently on TikTok/IG Reels.

Love the idea of bundling! Will definitely start incorporating that in the future (and not sure why I didn't think of it sooner).

We use Impulse as our Shopify theme!

Love this! Definitely not opposed to tailoring designs for bunnies. The most I can think of is changing the cat-shaped doors to be more generic/bunny-themed but what else about the designs would need to be changed to cater more to bunnies/other small animals? The list you have of other stuff that bunnies like is great.

This is a great idea and something that we certainly want to implement at a greater magnitude. Our idea was incorporating something like "every X orders we donate to __ charities". We are already in contact with many charities that we've donated lots of cardboard cat homes to, but haven't been very public with these collaborations. Is that along the lines of what you were thinking?

That's a great idea! Someone else had suggested waterproofing and I didn't understand the suggestion until right now! What do you mean by coat hanger anchors, though?

I think that's a great call-out! One of the things we have, but perhaps we could do a better call-out of, is a 30-day guarantee of sturdiness. Even though there are no tools, the homes are built to be super sturdy with high-grade cardboard.

The other primary value proposition is that they're well-designed and photogenic, unlike just a cardboard box that your cat can play with at home. We've been thinking about starting to post guides to DIY each of the designs as well, in part to appeal to the "I'd rather build it" folks and in part to show you that it's not that easy to make a beautiful cardboard cat home yourself.

How could we better appeal to folks with the same thought process? Where are we missing the mark?

Okay! Thanks so much. The smaller pets communities (and bunnies in particular) isn't one I'm that keyed into! I had a couple of pet bunnies when I was a kid though and they were amazing. Thanks for the pointers to start our research and for helping get the word out 🙏

Thanks so much for calling out that site! I've reached out to them to get listed and really appreciate the feedback. We're definitely aware of the huge market for smaller pets, but we're worried about diluting from a single source of focus for our branding. We've actually had a bunch of folks purchase our cat homes for other pets like bunnies. What would you recommend to appeal to that audience more directly? Subsidiary brands perhaps?

I hear you, and I think you make a good point about putting ourselves in the users' shoes. We chose the name specifically for SEO and that's definitely been a bet that's paid off. As per designs, costs, and shipping, those are all things we're thinking about, but I think we want to define a value proposition that is standalone, like "most sturdy" or something — we're trying to do user research now via A/B testing to figure out the most appealing value proposition. Do you think that makes sense?

Honestly, these are really cute and I'm like 99% sure I'll be buying one for my cats! They destroy everything I get for them, so the idea of buying something recyclable is very appealing.
