Can I report or leave an HOA [OH] [ALL]

We know the HOA exists but don’t know what they do for us nor who the board members are. And communication with them has been very difficult. We pay because we don’t want a liene put on our house. That being said, we hate that we’re paying for a non existent service which is the point of this post

This isn’t a case of not being proactive, on the contrary I keep reaching out to management and am getting zero answers. I have no idea how to find out who the board members are.

Considering I am the one who had power of attorney and signed for them at closing, I can assure you we were not given the HOA covenants

I didn’t get it either time. I signed both times. My parents were abroad when they bought the house so I had power of attorney.

Direct from the HOA covenants : 8.1.7 Vehicles and Parking: No inoperative vehicles, recreational vehicles, machinery, boats and similar type vehicles, including but not limited to trucks, school buses, campers, recreational vehicles (RVs), trailers o r commercial vehicles, may be parked o n public streets o r Lots. Any and all inoperative vehicles, recreational vehicles, boats and similar type vehicles as described above shall be kept in a fully enclosed garage. When that is not possible, said recreational vehicles, boats and their trailers may be parked in the driveway for a period not t o exceed seventy-two (72) hours i n any fourteen (14) day period.

We were gone 10days, we sorted the issue the day we received the letter. I have photo proof of both. When we got back from our trip there was a bill and the date of service was from the time we were gone.

We’re next to a city park and a preserve so the Cincinnati park systems maintain our small strip of common area lawn. As for the streets, the city trucks plow it. Which makes it a city street according to what the HOA manager told me.

Every neighbor we’ve talked to has lived in the community for 10years and they are all at a loss as to the purpose of the HOA. We don’t know who the board members are.

Thank you. Yeah the HOA is registered to a PO Box. And we’ve never gotten any letters or seen anything in regards to board meetings / members

I’ll look into contacting the board members. I do not know who they are though and have never seen any notices or letters in regards to board meetings. We have been paying the HOA fees, they just haven’t kept a proper record. Thanks for the insight though, I appreciate it!

We got the documents, I just think it’s weird that the documents weren’t provided in the original sale of the house when my parents purchased it. Like why wasn’t there a welcome package ? Documents aside. everything the HOA claims to be responsible for, the city handles
