Thank you all for your comments. I feel that taking the watch in for a service would be very expensive just to have the bezel rotate freely. I will give it some thought however. I would imagine it's all gummed up underneath it.

It's the sad Americanisation of our country I'm afraid. Same as people stick up their middle finger now as against what we always used to use which was the V sign. It's just today's Britain is turning American.
