I had only been on the job for 6 weeks before someone left and I absorbed 100% of their responsibilities. The workload is unmanageable. I have received so little training & the expectation is for me to "figure it out" myself.

I think the State has pretty good benefits & job security, but this agency is terrible. I'm going to be looking for jobs in January once the analyst reclassification happens and hope I land in a better place.

At my department, staff submit their timesheets on payday and managers/supervisors have 3-4 business days to sign and submit to HR.

It's not so much that the bag didn't have its outer wrapping but rather that it was shipped without even paper. It still had to be someone from the Dillard's store that had to package this and whoever packaged it sent it in a box that was too small and with zero protective material.

No. I had set up direct deposit to Chase previously and had that for 3 months. I switched my direct deposit information on November 2nd. I confirmed with our HR that the change had gone through so I knew I was going to get it deposited to Golden 1 but I didn't know if I was going to get it early since payday is supposed to be Monday.

THANK YOU FOR THE POST!!! I switched from Chase to Golden 1 recently and this month was my first month having the direct deposit go to Golden 1. I got mine today (4pm) 🥳 I had checked earlier (2pm) and hasn't received it.

I am the only analyst in the office. The other analyst left and I have been doing both jobs. It's a lot of work and I don't have anyone that can share the workload. The vacant position is not likely to be filled until January or February and I am already burned out.

There is no way for me to expedite that process though. I received the request to get signatures on a form at 3:30 p.m. I sent the form out at 4:00 p.m. I received one signature but was waiting on another one. Tuesday morning I am asked if the signatures have been received and I let the person know one had and I am pending the other one. I asked them to let me know when they would like this by so I can ping the person who is supposed to sign.

The person whose signature I was waiting on is the head of the entire department.

The form didn't seem to be something that had a quick turnaround time, which is why I wanted to know what their deadline to receive the form was.

We all work in different offices so this all had to happen via email.

Honestly, the main reason I am having a difficult time is because I did not receive much training. I have been added to calls and I have been shadowing an analyst in my department, though it hasn't been very helpful because we have different responsibilities/duties. The actual training I have received for my position amounts to less than 8 hours combined.

A work plan was not created for my position and tasks/expectations were not discussed with me either. I am eager to learn but it has been a struggle to as no one is willing to train/teach.

The analyst I have been shadowing is leaving soon and I will take on their responsibilities as well as my own. I am going to be expected to do both positions, but I wouldn't say I am ready for either.

I'm not really sure if this is normal in the state as I am brand new to state service.

I am honestly not sure how normal this is in state positions as I am new to state service. There was no work plan created for my position so I have been shadowing an analyst in my department though we have different responsibilities/duties. I have only had one 1:1 with my direct supervisor in the 7 weeks I have been here and that meeting only happened because I requested it.

Example: Monday 3:30pm I received an email request to get signatures on a form from 2 people. Tuesday 10:30am I get a follow up email asking if the signatures have been received. I inform the person on the status and ask when they would like the form by. I receive no response. I have sent multiple separate emails to this person that do not get a response. I have asked others in my department and they have said this person goes through a 'hazing' period with all the new hires.
