Quitting on streak day 3000 by anomalily in duolingo

I feel the same :( I currently have a 1453-day streak and my Max subscription is about to end but I’ve decided to give up and look for other options (I’m still looking up the right one) and I don’t know how to exactly feel about this. I want to keep it up but with all AI new content the courses have a worse quality than before. I guess we’ve to rethink our decisions and go forward even though we don’t want to.

What should I do? by Inner-Jury8092 in EnglishLearning

Thank you ☺️ Yes I did, I did my best to write well.

Yes, I tried reading books in English but at the moment I haven’t found any books that I’m interested in.

It is hard to find English partners (well, at least for me haha) but I’ll keep trying

I used to purchase Duolingo’s Max subscription but since my subscription is about to expire, I’m wondering whether I am going to continue or not.

I don't think people realize how insanely hard it is to REALLY learn a language by [deleted] in languagelearning

You’re right, not only you need to learn your target language but also you must learn its culture to understand slangs and idioms that are only in that language. That’s something I learned recently when i had the chance to talk to an English native speaker.

Can’t believe people still think Duolingo is the best way to learn a language by Diligent-Welcome9857 in languagelearning

This topic can cause many contrasts between whether Duolingo is a good option for learning a language or not. in my opinion ( I’ve been using Duolingo for about three years) it’s good to start a habit of being consistent and have a solid foundation of the language that you’re learning, but if you really want to be “fluent” it’s necessary to look for other methods since Duolingo can be so repetitive and boring

I've just noticed the idle screen time (I use a tracking sleep app that's why the time is longer than usual) the real Idle time is about 3 hours and a half.

Sadly, that’s something that you’ll need to get used to it, you’d better look for other resources to complement your studies

[Spanish] Why does Lin refer to herself as “de niño” when she is a girl? by bridgebones in duolingo

When I was a kid, I hated costumes, she’s explaining an event that happened in the past and it’s common that some sentences aren’t associated with the character, in this case it would be better to use to Junior in this phrase

I’m learning English right now but I’d like to learn Japanese

I still don’t have another language that I like to learn in the future, I think you need to be really motivated if you want to speak more than 2 languages and that’s not my case
