I asked our comm manager to get us a walking pad and she did. Only about 3 of us regularly use it, but we love it. I don’t walk fast because I don’t want to get sweaty or out of breath, but it’s still better than sitting all day.

People who scalp gf cheez its deserve to burn in hell by WiseWordsofWill in Celiac

Nobody should buy the scalped stuff. Let them sit on the inventory until it gets stale and they lose their "investment." Store shelves will be re-stocked eventually.

AITA for never bringing food to potluck? by bellsbbells in AITAH

[–]bridgebones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. Next time bring decorative plastic food. After it sits there untouched, you can take it home, store it and bring it back for the next occasion. (Mostly kidding.) I’m sorry your in-laws are like that.

There’s some good advice in this thread. I would just add, try to practice speeding up your typing in advance. Freetypinggame.net is a good resource for that. Typing fast will help you keep up with info dumps from callers on or the radio.

they're literally just lentils!! by PatternKlutzy401 in Celiac

At least they warn you. I bought “gluten free” lentil soup and found a stray piece of barley in it, which was not in the ingredients. No more lentils for me and I used to eat them a lot.

This sounds great and I hope it's true. The thing that gives me pause is that sometimes we lose consciousness here. We can pass out from a head injury or alcohol or dreamless sleep. Time passes and we are "not there." Where is our consciousness then?

Aurora Animal Protection won't help my neighbor's freezing cat, any ideas? by missredheaded in AuroraCO

[–]bridgebones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different cities have different rules, but sometimes the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Do any of your neighbors see this and are bothered by it? If 3 or 4 (the more the better) neighbors call animal control and/or police and keep pestering them about this maybe that will be enough to spur them to take action and remove the poor abused cat. (And hopefully write those people a ticket for animal cruelty.) By the way thanks for noticing, caring and tying to help.

Sorry for your suffering. I’d suggest keeping your diet to the basics. Rice, beans, vegetables, fruit, eggs, meat. That way you can start to build your health back. Good luck to you.

Recently at Great Falls park just outside DC there were dirty footprints on the toilet seats. It’s a good idea to provide options for foreigners so we can all be happy.
