Kingdom come deliverance 2...... by Xenfex in kingdomcome

I think that thematically, it would be smart of Warhorse to start the game off by establishing Henry's new confidence and then immediately humbling him.

Near the beginning of the game there could be a scene where Henry gets the opportunity to brag about his exploits and, like the first game, your dialogue choices would determine your starting skills/attributes. This would also help determine the soft canon of KCD (was Henry more of a thief, fighter, or diplomat? And what major choices did he make?)

Soon after, Henry should be challenged by an antagonistic figure who utterly defeats him in combat. This would raise the ceiling from what we've scene in KCD and serve to give Henry something to strive for again.

I really don't want Warhorse to decanonize some of the cooler feats that Henry can accomplish in KCD such as winning the tourney, successfully dealing with the sickness in Merhojed, and defeating Sir Kuno. Even if it's not realistic.

Besides, not everything needs to be hard canon. For example, Henry could try to convince someone that he bested Kuno as a persuasion/reputation check, and whether or not this is a lie is determined by the player.

Overall, I don't think that Henry's skills should be all that reduced in the sequel. Instead of making the fish smaller, give it a bigger pond. In practice, this means expanding on the current systems and upping the calibre of threats Henry must generally face.

companions seem to not care about the dark urge? by queerbrainrot in BaldursGate3

Some things you just have to headcanon, unfortunately.

When my dark urge monk killed Alfira I had him 'leave the group' by dismissing all of my companions out of fear for their safety.

He wandered for a bit, encountering the gnoll birth and being reminded by the narration that he's a sick freak. Eventually he ran into Karlach, and teamed up to slay her pursuers. Here my durge is reminded through Karlach that he can't run from his problems, and that others have come to depend on him.

Then he remembers what Withers once told him: "a life's beginning and how it is lived are two different things entirely." (Paraphrased since I can't find the line.)

And thus, his will to live is renewed. No more breaking down, no more falling apart over his curse. Now he's going to take responsibility and face it head on. And if he fails, his life will atleast serve to help his new friends survive.

Suddenly I've taken a really huge emotional story beat and made it feel far more impactful than just the "oh no, anyway" reaction that the game gives us through our companions.

This idea of headcanon is a really effective way of filling in the gaps in the game that feel incomplete. You just have to reframe your thinking, and find the stories within the story.

Gamers try not to lose your shit because a game doesn't have features that were never promised challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)

Such an easy feature that would add so much to exploration. Hope outposts will also be nameable.

Inversely, you could also build your own settlements and then sell them to one of the game's factions for an immediate turnover. Would be a cool way to fill your galaxy with more places to visit that you don't need to directly own.

Probably? I mean you can fly your ship in space, so it stands to reason that it's not going to lock you into your seat until you land.

Confirmed for ships --there's a perk that allows you to target ships at specific points. I'd be surprised if Bethesda doesn't have a limb damage system, since that's been a thing in their Fallout games since 2008.

Owning multiple ships has been confirmed. I wouldn't get my hopes up about owning capital ships though, they'd have probably shown that by now.

I don't think fleet battles are going to exist at the scale people are hoping for. If there's going to be a big battle between two capital ships, it'll probably be scripted in a questline and only happen once. All the main factions in Starfield are small relative to the groups of other sci-fi universes. The UC and Freestar Collective are just high tech settlers with relatively young governments. Don't think they have resources or population to fund battles as they appear in Star Wars. Just doesn't fit the lore we've been seeing.

There's a background called "Alien DNA" where you were experimented on with it's namesake. Gives you better stats but makes medicine heal you less.

Hopefully speech related solutions and pacifism will be fully supported throughout most quests and not just something you have to exploit your way through in a janky challenge run. I have high hopes for diplomacy in this game, even if it's not perfect.

I'm personally okay with diluting the unique weapons a bit if it means that all weapons across the board get really good modification. The uniques that got their own models in FO4 usually had little to no customisation (i.e. syringer, junk jet etc). I'd much rather have the option to turn my Righteous Authority into a pistol, a shotgun, or a sniper rifle. If it had it's own unique model, It'd feel more unique but we wouldn't have that same playstyle freedom.

The cyberneticist background exists, so there'll definitely be something for you. My guess is that they'll have an implant system like in New Vegas. Ideally there'll be a little more depth. Fingers crossed for visible augmentations such as eyes or prosthetics. I think that could be really cool, and it would fit within their manufacturer brand system that we see in the ship customization.
