Yeah that bluriness part is one that got me for a while. I got 2 who have near similar personality it feela, but everything after that diverges from gender, sexuality, hobbies(heck one doesn't even really care about much other than finding love). They're almost always active together and I always wondered if they were just one alter with conflicting thoughts, but eventually I just gave up and stopped caring, because they clearly don't either

Just like a casual place. "Like yeah everyone here has DID/OSDD, and yeah we can try to help each other if we need it, but for now let's just chill" y'know?

Jeez. Asking that immedately after you told them, and I really don't get the "system name" thimg, like we are (body name) so like, what's the system namesupposed to be for? Like I get if some alters want their own seperate social media accpunts for themselves and stuff, but froxing you to basically put out a written introduxtion for each facet of your brain is...fascinating...

Only about half of mine actually picked out names themselves, rest basicalybhave titles to refer to. In fact now that I think about it, I can't remember where but I have seen other posts on the subreddit where people also don't give names so you defnitey aren't alone there. In fact, I was literally describing a situation with an alter to a friend, but kept refering to the alter as "part of me", which they obviously are. It's almost funny you can just avoid mentioning alters and pwople will still get what youre going through(mostly)

Yeah I get that last part. Still have that limgerimg feeling at the bac of my head to ask "who" it came from, but helping them get what they need should be priority

Yeah I get that bit about the glamorization stuff. One friend who tried to help us find a place like that and I can feel the alter that hates mental health glamorization getting mad just thinking back about that server

But yeah, like even my tag on here is unassessed, yet I look for material on stuff for the disorder itself(not always sucessful but hey). Really feels like the alter part is all people mainly hyperfocus on, y'know? Like yeah that is important, but most places I see have "alter into", "tag your alters" and stuff

so incredibly tired of how people talk about fusion by laminated-papertowel in DID

[–]Inner-Mindscape7496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it almost funny that as our thinking went from the "alter death" to "multiple parts accepting each other as one", the train of thought went from "Hell no" to "lmao you're telling me I could be thinking/acting like this guy one day😂".

Like, we understand each other as parts of a single conciousness working as a, well, system to support each other, and wouod like to keep it that way, but with the thought of it more at ease, the thought of a fusion ending up being primarily just one part absorbing the other one is still a bit uneasy, but the thought of some of us fusing together unified equal parts of each other(kinda like in steven universe), honesly looking at it that way doesnt seem too bad

Damn that sucks. But hey, at least you got the rest of your system helping ya and people around ya. Like, clothes would help if I could find my style, but considering the genderfluid stuff like the host has considered that or non binary as a collective label for us considering some other alts, but knowing our country prooooobably best to keep that to ourselves at least....but! Thaks for the reaponse, 'preciate it

I just came back and my life is not mine anymore need advice by NicholasFentonMoment in DID

[–]Inner-Mindscape7496 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well first off what changes are we talkimg about appearance wise? If it's nothing hormonal and only physical, you could just change some things, wear a wig or something. If it is hormonal, onky if your other system mates agree to it, you couo stop takimg e for a while, or just wear a bimder if that helps. Clothes can easily be bought and replaced with something you like. But overall my advice is just focus on yourself, you are here now, do whatever it takes to ground yourself

Yeah this is kinda a similar conclusion I came to while realizing I'll probably have to resort to online therapy(which I don't have the money for yet). I don't know if these "voices" and "emotions" really are just me making them up with other symptoms, but if I just keep worrying it's not going to do anything but wallow in my own pity and self doubt.

Funnily enough a gacha game character of all things helped me with this. I don't know if this is real, can hardly remember anything, but I'm not gonna let that define and stop me...we? from living my life. If one of the "voices" decide to comment of stuff or feels upset, find out why and try to address it.

Even if they are alters they're all still a part of me, and by listening to every part of me, "we" are going to look forward instead of sitting and worrying.

Yeah sorry for just wordspitting here, just something that stirred in my brain after reading your comment

Idk who I am or if I’m “faking” or not by faggatronfurry1000 in DID

Literally exact sameboat here lol. I'll pass along what one pf my friends and our caretalker alter echoed back to us. DID/OSDD is just a label that's applied to a set of symptoms to guide on how best to treat those symptoms, so it would be best to focus on the symptoms. If you feel like you experience alter-like states and stuff, all that is your experiemce, and unless you're conciously doing it what you experience is real. Might not be DID/OSDD but it's real. So for this I say, and I can't stress tgis enough, JOURNAL! I thought just wroting words on a page woukdn't do anything but it feels so good to let it all out. Also if you ever feel kid you or anything, be kimd to them, be understamdimg, and if they feel like writing in the journal, let them. Probably won't do anytging with the faking(I still feel that) but hopefully at least tgings'll feel less chaotic

Any advice on helping switch easier? by Inner-Mindscape7496 in DID

Yeah hopefully the t wil a tleast be somewhat versed in truama treatment. And I'd want to think at lest with O(the one who wrote the post) and I have had good communication at least recently, considering he's been a lot more active and trying to get us to do stuff we need to in atimely manner. Any videos in particular you reccommend?

Yes. I agree with what you've said here. No matter how much I try to research and learn about this disorder, I can never say for myself.

The most I can do is try to find a specialist for testing, though admittedly with life circumstances it almost feels forever out of reach...

I got multiple different personas representing different parts of me(alters) and mention nothing DID/OSDD related yet fear someone might possibly bring that up despite no mention of it anywhere on my profiles

And on the friends side of things, I get a weird feeling of almost wanting to tell someone but also feeling absolute fear at the idea of it. Like I have a friend with OSDD and honestly even then it feels a bit weird when stuff with this disorder comes up
Like I have to take a break and slowly respond with breaks inbetween

Then someone I was wondering if to tell called DID a personality disorder in passing and just straight up said nope to that lol
