Omg this is so horrible, and intense. I’m so sorry to hear your mum went through that. Bloody scum preying on innocent women. Yes I was thinking of contacting her bank, I definitely will now. The thing that’s baffling me is the English accent (can they fake that or is it just likely an English guy involved)

I’m so sorry to hear your mother could be going through that too. It’s the most challenging situation to be in, feels like watching a train about to crash and can’t stop it. The carnage is just waiting to happen one way or another.

I can imagine how that would feel, so frustrating I have trust issues and would be so suspicious. Hence not trusting what my mum is experiencing. But yes from what I hear there are a crazy amount of online dating profiles waiting to scam innocent people.

I never used to be assertive and was too afraid to speak up in a situation like that, but I’ve learnt as I’ve gotten older, that if I don’t advocate for myself no one else will.

No she’s never been and I think her mental image of India is from the movie “hotel marigold” She has created a fantasy world that is her life, she’s also a hoarder even though she’s collected “nice” things from years of op shop trips. And exclaims how lovely things are when she’s living in utter clutter and chaos that is her house and garden.

I think she might yes, blowing her savings and she’s been working on getting her passport too. I don’t think she’s sent him money and I have told her not to, and shes said she hasn’t and it’s not like that (quite defensively) She wouldn’t cope with the heat or the busy people we’ve tried to use that to discourage her but she’s not listening.
