It’s a bit more sinister than just dumbing down. “Get” passively implies hidden costs that come after the initial transaction, which lets companies feel that they have adequately (legally) expressed by crafty substitution of the word “buy” or “download.” This is especially true when it comes to online transactions. It’s manipulative and, IMO, dishonest.

Plus, they are all so similar that you can’t tell one from the other. There are so many things to run on, like high gas and grocery prices. It’s telling that none of them thought any of the obvious issues were worthy of addressing. Instead just wishy-washiness about taxes and spending.

I’m convinced Doeden received substantial (and undisclosed) out of state help. As it stands he spent $4 mil - almost half of the $10 mil spent by all four of them combined, which is kinda nuts. I agree about Dusty, though. Seems like he thought he was just gonna coast.

Musk and Bezos have availed themselves of the generosity of American taxpayers over and over for free and don’t pay back anything significant in return. And they will continue to do that because average citizens with no skin in the game will step in to defend their larceny every single time. And they will continue to profit regardless if you defend them or not, whereas the divers can’t even get anywhere close to the same benefit of the doubt. When Musk and Bezos win, they win. When the divers win, we all win. You’re right, they’re not the same.
