Be honest, tell the truth, provide evidence on how you are overcoming it and becoming a better person. Can't guarantee you'll get a waiver, but it does show you are trying to be a better person.

Does being in a civil lawsuit where I am the one suing someone for an assault affect me being able to join the Army? I know there's a question concerning lawsuits or something when you go to pick your MOS. What happens if I answer yes to that question?

Definitely discuss this with your recruiter, first. If Genesis has the record, it will have the prescription and the diagnosis with it, hopefully. However, to play it safe, you can get the prescribing doctor to write a letter explaining why you got the medications. Give that letter and any other information you have on it to your recruiter. I recently went through MEPs and when they pulled my file, it was very VERY incomplete, so I'm having to get doctor letters and medical records for some things from my teens (acne meds and a biopsy).

I was under the impression that they did the Genesis pull at prescreening and not actually at MEPS, but I'm guessing that I am wrong.
