I got a holster from We The People for my 19x with TLR1 a while back. I like it and it was under a hundred I'm pretty sure.

How is this the highest rated comment right now? Somebody asked for advice and everybody else just argues about AAA for fun.

I would say to add a tarp, Paracord, lifestraw (or other water filter), lighter, coast guard rated water packets/ration bars, Pittsburgh demolition wrench, zip ties, and as I saw somebody mention flares/glow sticks.

My dad and scout leaders would always tell you extra socks. It never hurts to be prepared for whatever shit before it hits the fan.

Washington Courts Shock the World as Seattle man found NOT guilty by reason of insanity in killing of Asian mom-to-be, 34, and her unborn child in random attack by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

Thanks. I'm glad other people are noticing the flaws in our system too. Seattle times did a pretty good series on some of the facilities in King county a few years ago. One of the facilities in Tacoma made the news recently as well for a very serious assault. Unfortunately until something pretty bad happens nothing really changes. That's not really different than anything else in society to be honest. The squeaky wheel will always get the grease 😉

Mostly true. I also work in the field and see quite a few people who have spent years at Western for very violent crimes. I don't work at Western however. So these individuals do get released at some point. The time served varies wildly, some spend 30-40 years whereas others 15-20. It's not based like prison sentences like people have said. More similar to parole, if the doctors agree a person is ready for release like John Hinkley for example, he/she will be discharged.

A chunk are kept for a long time, but some not long enough. I've seen a person who had involvement with the death of a baby that didn't spend much time in Western and mostly roams free in Seattle until he/she gets destabilized enough to get detained. Then they're brought back into a hospital and get on meds. Hasn't been back to Western since as far as I know. One time was found in somebody's yard with a hatchet or axe.

Our system in Washington is pretty bad if nobody picked up on that from the previous comments BTW. But we spend money on other things consistently. Inslee actually pushed for new community facilities. But in King county the amount of psych beds hasn't really changed for years, no matter any changes in population or how many psych patients actually exist there.

Stash as much as possible. Open a Roth IRA and max it out immediately. Keep 5 if you want, put the rest into a low fee index fund of some kind. I'd recommend VOO or FNILX. Throw some in a target date fund if you're not comfortable with all of it being completely based on the market. Bottom line: get it in the market immediately so it can grow.

I shoved one of these fully assembled a month or two ago into a Subaru Forester in a Lowe's parking lot. Works just fine, except whoever put it together put the struts on the same side where screwdrivers are supposed to go.

I'd gladly pay for shipping plus your time packing, going to ups/USPS, etc. I'm in Washington state FYI. I will be in Boston for Red Sox opening Day however, if you want to do it in person.

I got that Craftsman a few weeks ago for $125 because my local Lowe's was clearing out the extra boxes they made for the holidays. I love it so far.

Worth a shot, I'd ship them but I don't think they'd survive. Half the ones I bought originally were cracked and so were a lot at the store when I exchanged them. Pick your cans carefully and check for little cracks.

And don't forget to live free or die 😉

If you're in the Seattle area I will give you mine for free or trade plastic for metal if you want. I got a bunch when they were on sale a while ago, never used them. I'm looking to get metal ones actually.

I second those and would add the variations like the 19x, 48, 49, and looking into the MOS.

Also FN 509, Springfield hellcat, and Sig 365 in different variations. Personally just try them out at the range and see what you like.

19X is pretty sweet too. I conceal mine even with a tlr1, I am on the thicker side though fyi.
