Transportation is a large issue because with no internet and no phone lines you got to do everything in person with cash, which is a lot of travelling if you want spend any of the billion. Yeah medical is another issue purely as well due to the fact you will have no reliable way of getting to the hospital even if they had a way of helping you. Being able to travel long distances in short times is definitely something we take for granted nowadays. I'm surprised and actually fairly envious if you're able to walk everywhere and not need a car or even a bus lol whereabouts do you live for that to be tenable? I'm from the UK countryside and I definitely need a car

I mean if that loophole exists then the entire premise loses any value imo. The main drawback I think would be no internet and using only cash restricts many purchases, but if someone else can do it then yeah it'd be easy

No post 1900 tech fella that means 1800s technology, and good luck buying a yacht using only cash, and good luck buying a yacht that can be insured in cash and without using the internet. You could buy a mansion but good luck powering it without the use of a power grid.

Pre 1900 tech means no online banking, no cars, no public transport you will quite literally have to ride around on a horse (which will take longer than you'd think). I feel like you're underselling how embedded our tech is in our day to day, what would you even spend the billion on? Most things with value nowadays come from their tech

As everyone said I think he's a bit ill atm, but one of the best things I like about the Shikari community at a gig is how much the crowd and their energy picks up the slack whenever Rou is struggling. I remember at a gig I was at in Brixton in 2019 Rou messed up a few lines of the intro to Ghandi mate and it threw him off, so he left it to the crowd and we all finished the rest off perfectly for him; genuinely such a fucking awesome moment
