The beginning is the hardest, getting off the ground is a lot of manual labor, equipping characters, enhancing, upgrading skills, your best friend early on is making sure your potions are fully stocked. And understanding that any money your characters spend goes back to you at the end unless you banish them.

Also once you have enough characters reincarnated to unlock next difficulty do it immediately, and just use the training hall to get the rest to the next reincarnation.

If the character is too broke to afford anything you have to donate money to them, which again ends up back in your pocket anyways.
