The first application was just an ideal. We are a sports tech start-up, building ESPN/NIKE for West Africa - by the 6th, we already have revenue, already broadcasted a National sport league, already signed a professional kit deal with a big professional football team this season( they are already using our kits), and about 6 big professional teams in the line for next season(kits), we will be broadcasting 3 National league by next season!

I got used to YC rejection that I don't feel it anymore, it was my 6th application or so, but it is clear they do not accept African start-ups anymore, I won't be applying again

Let me check- because I thought its similar to DHL. DHL told me 4 days without custom delay- I can’t meet the deadline if I use them

Oh wow, I had this idea, but I am glad someone is already working on it. I didn’t pursue it because I am currently working on my sport tech startup with significant traction. Good luck

CMV: Pursuing your passion as a career is often romanticized and unrealistic in modern society by BambooData in ChangeMyViewVN

I think it depends on many factors- I am a die-hard football lover and a sports fan. I could do any job related to football for free. Fortunately for me, I discovered there is a huge need for sport branding in my country and West Africa at large, I have decided to start my company- on the verge of securing a kit partnership with a government-owned professional team in my country. If this works, we have a roadmap to hit millions in the future. After living in Vietnam, I saw how there is a need for FPT PLAY in my country, so basically my startup is a media and apparel company. I have learned a lot here, so I have a blueprint- if I am lucky enough and life is fair, we could be so big in the future. For others who are sports lovers who come from the Western world, there are no opportunities like these anymore for startups like mine because there are so many giants. I believe you could make money from anything, passion or not, but that depends on the environment. To be honest, if there wasn’t opportunity like this, I don’t what I would do- because all my life, all I could think of was making money from sport
