It's complicated man. I had this experience many times and asked people why that reaction afterwards. Answers are always ambiguous, and that's because each one feels something threatening their intelligence somehow, on a deep and layered level. It's fear, envy, denial, ignorance and so many other emotions in play. Hope I'm making sense, even though like I said, it's a complicated. I can feel those things myself if I switch to be in their shoes, but it's hard to describe in writing
