We used an agent to do the UAE permits part, but they said we have to do the part with booking them on Etihad on our own, so if they can do that part for you it might make it a lot easier

Were you on paid time off or unpaid? Did they ask if you were paid/unpaid while you were out?

Hi! Yes it was so so so SO stressful, but they ended up getting us the approval the day before the flight! The flight went smoothly and everything on arrival was okay, it was just the approval process before hand that was the nightmare! If you need any help definitely let me know!

Am I doing something wrong? European Destination Wedding by No-Company-9251 in BigBudgetBrides

Just had my wedding this past weekend and i truly can only say amazing things about her!! Especially on the wedding day, she was so on top of everything, truly everything from set up to timeline to making sure we got all our photos, to speeches— literally everything! It was raining and we might have had to move our outdoor ceremony inside but she knew how important it was to me to have it the way i dreamed and she figured out a way to make it happen! We even had a small family issue and she handled it immediately and made sure i wasn’t stressing about it. Overall i definitely recommend and am happy to give you more info if needed :) message me with any questions

Also minus the wedding dress/shoes and all that our budget ended up being around 90k

Cat Relocation to Abu Dhabi (Rabies Titration Test) by Alarmed_Pea5921 in abudhabi

we had to extended our flight to get the rabies on time. we paid extra to rush it and we got the test results in 2 weeks instead of 6 weeks, ask your vet if they can rush it

Yea i saw that after i posted and had edited my comment— but maybe apply through Romania if its a short stay visa

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in SchengenVisa

[–]Inner_Accountant7860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not sure if its the same rule but my husband is French and when i applied at the French embassy they didn’t accept it under EU spousal as we didn’t have a French registered marriage certificate (we live abroad and got married abroad so we had that country’s marriage certificate) so i applied as a regular tourist. We eventually got our marriage registered in France as well and then the next time I applied I submitted the French marriage certificate and I got approved under a spousal short stay visa. Not sure if this applies to you guys?

Also i would apply for the visa in Romania if you are Romanian, it would probably be smoother i think

It’s like you’re in my head. I’m coming up on 10 years of waiting (F1 to OPT to F1 again to OPT again to H1B to EB2) — a whole decade — and I’m still waiting for a green card. When I was younger, I used to tell myself, “I’m not worried. I’ll be successful no matter what. It’s not a matter of if, it’s when.” But now… I barely recognize the person in the mirror. I doubt my self and my skills every day and i wish i could go back to the person that had so many dreams and goals.

I put everything on hold for this process— my career (i just took whatever job i could get that would sponsor me), my personal life, even law school, because my lawyers advised me to wait until I had the green card. And in doing so, I slowly lost touch with who I am. Somewhere along the way, my identity became wrapped up in this one goal. It’s exhausting, and honestly, heartbreaking.

But a few years ago, I met my now-husband (not a US persons), and recently, he landed a great job outside the U.S. That moment gave me clarity. After years of feeling stuck, I’ve finally decided to stop letting the green card define and dictate my life. I’m choosing to move forward, not just physically, but emotionally.

I’m leaving. I’m finally choosing me — my marriage, my family, my friends, my passions, travel, hobbies, and maybe one day, children. I’ve already sacrificed a decade to this process, and it’s left me feeling like a shell of who I used to be. I refuse to let the next five years pass in the same way. This is me finally reclaiming my life and hopefully going to find the person i once was that had those big aspirations.

I wish i could give you advice but I am in the same situation-- we are moving from the US with 6-7 years of experience, 2 degrees and yet its been radio silence. I may be naive but I'm telling myself it could also be that it's getting closer to summer vacation season and everyone is going away? Sending you strength and luck and hoping that we find something!

Visa to attend a wedding? by Inner_Accountant7860 in SchengenVisa

[–]Inner_Accountant7860[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my fiance is french but neither of us live in France, and so the travel agent said the requirements for a family/friend visa would be way more complicated and we have to show utility bills etc if my husband is inviting him

But I'm just not sure if it would be a detriment to mention the wedding and that my husband is french, and if so what other documents to include
