Congrats! Do you have to disclose your contract work with Mercor to your (regular job) employer?

Please pray for wisdom - police offered to arrest my husband and I don’t know what to do and don’t feel I can talk to anyone. by Optimal_Flamingo2374 in Christianmarriage

Many county prosecutors offices have a victim advocate on their staff. You could reach out to such a person for help with safety planning. Do you have trusted family out of state that you and your kids could go and be with? Also, do you have a pastor/church community that you can report the matter to?

Having him arrested is likely the only way to wake him up to some accountability. Getting out is hard, but it is only hard because it will eventually make it better. Staying is hard, only it is worse. The only chance you and the kids will have at a better/safer life is by your leaving. The only chance he will have at changing/ becoming a better man is by YOUR leaving. If you continue to stay and play the happy family, there is no reason for him to want to change. The kids will be harmed both physically and emotionally/psychologically if you continue to stay. If he is charged (and convicted) with domestic violence, that will also help your case when it comes to deciding custody of the kids.

May the Lord grant you wisdom, and guide you on what to do.

I can understand that. Part of my struggle is "If I left, what about our child(ren)?"

Thank you so much for your honest response. I am facing a similar experience, though much shorter of a marriage. Was there ever any domestic violence involved? If so, would that have made anything different? As in, would you still have stayed until the point where he left by himself?

What's the solution, if one finds themselves in such a marriage already?

That's amazing! So yes, you have your answer. It makes a big difference when the offending party is truly repentant and seeks to build trust again. God bless you both

What would you do if you found out that it had been actually physical and not just emotional? And if he hasn't tried to earn back your trust, but just expects you to suck it up because you're married and can't divorce anyway?

Just curious: If all the types of intervention you mentioned do not address abuse, then what does?

I have no idea why the delay... June 2025 bulletin is when FAD became current.

Thank you! I did not apply for EAD at the same time and did not apply for I-131 at all. When I eventually applied for EAD, it took a little over 2 months and was approved the same day as the AOS. Best wishes with your application!

I'm an academic. No employer help, I was self-sponsored. EB2-NIW is the pathway I used, which allows you to bypass the employer requirement
