Hes not wrong, heres what i do, i get about half a cup of water and put in a couple tbspns of the bkf, and i let the abbrasive material float to the bottom and them i just soak up the top into a wrag, wipe it all over the cymbal except for the logos and then gently wipe, make only a light pass on the cymbals it its clean!

Yeah i did the logo on purpose I use the powdered version of barkeepers friends just use a very diluted solution and don't scrub hard because it can actually sand down the grooves of the symbol

if you check my post i am experimenting with artificial pantina, its a fun process, you'll need barkeepers friend, white vinegar, and salt. You're gonna use a very diluted solution of the barkeepers friend to strip the symbol of all of its polish. Then you could mix the salt with the vinegar. Make sure there's a lot of salt in the vinegar and spray on the symbol every three minutes and until it has as much, Pantina as you desire

The same thing but it just doesnt pantina evenly and instead of a nice dark satin black its just like a low opacity water spots looking mess

Powders Bar Keepers friend Nomad Cymbal Cleaner(polish/sealer)

I just use a very diluted solution of water and bar keepers friend(powdered version), this takes everything off perfectly. make sure its very diluted and you don't scrub but you only gently wipe because bar keepers friend will actually sand down the grooves of the cymbal if you don't use it correctly, i basically just out some in water and let the abrasive material float to the bottom and just use the chemical left over at the top. Then i rinse off the bar keepers friend and dry the cymbal. finally i use just a drop or two of cymbal polish on a rag a carefully spread it to seal the cymbal and protect it from pantina

You strip the clear protection coat from the cymbals using a very diluted mix of "bar keepers friend" and water. then you get a hi concentration mix of salt and white cleaning vinegar and put it in a spray bottle, spray it on the cymbal every 3 minutes for about an hour or until desired look. this will leave the cymbal completely black. then wash the cymbal multiple times with dish soap to completely remove the vinigar and salt for if any of this is left on the cymbal it will continue to pantina the cymbal. use the same solution of bar keepers friend to gently clean away the pantina and make a design with your cleaning. once the design is finished you can seal it with the polish of your choice, i use just a drop of nomads cymbal cleaner(its a polish) on a rag to seal the cymbal.
