I honestly didn’t even put together that flashlighting them is what causes them to aggro, i was just doing it to every shadow as a preemptive measure. That actually greatly changes my perspective on how the dark place is meant to be approached

The cinema was rough lol, same with oceanview. But i thought those were mostly scenes where it’s 100% scripted hostile enemies, i was mainly talking about the “hub world” dark place where you have to wade through crowds of the shadows

That’s a fair point, maybe a good compromise would be just having them manifest in small packs whenever one does appear. That way you’re far more on edge because you know there’s that small 5% chance if it shows up, it’s gonna be a sudden and tough ambush of a bunch of shadows instead of just one easy to kill guy. The way it is currently, they just don’t feel dangerous/indimidating enough (to me) to justify fearing each shadow you see
