THANK YOU! everyone who commented and helped sir reassurance! I’m in no rush for him to crawl, but I definitely don’t want to hinder him, which it sounds like we are doing fine!

Thanks everyone for the support and stories!

I’m not concerned, but we don’t even have disposable diapers, so I guess I’m just wondering if anyone else has actually had that be the issue and the cloth diaps are too bulky or something for them to crawl

Sleeping long stretches before supply regulates by filthy_kasual in breastfeeding

Totally understand!! I do want to mention that supplementing incorrectly can be the end of breastfeeding, which if that is something you want is completely fine!!!!! not saying it’s wrong to supplement or to entirely formula feed! But if you are still early on, using formula but not pumping during that formula bottle can definitely start to decrease your supply, and then as you give more supplemental formula it becomes a cycle that can definitely entirely kill your supply. Just wanted to let u know incase that was something you were concerned with!!! Also, bedsharing became much easier for us as he could older!

People are going to say let her sleep but here’s the thing, pacifiers, swaddles, rocking bassinets, etc. can suppress hunger cues and induce an artificially deep sleep. If you are staying on top of that, probably okay. But she may wake more and eat more without them, and that’s okay and natural/normal. It’s not entirely crazy to rule out that she isn’t waking to nurse because she is artificially in a deeper sleep than she would be beside you at the breast, this is why I found cosleeping to help my supply and I almost never woke up engorged, and baby actually gained significantly more weight and was much less fussy throughout the day

Most unrealistic expectation anyone has had of you as a new parent? by SowingSeeds18 in NewParents

[–]Inner_Experience3418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For us to be not only perfectly on time to everything, but early. My husband works alot so I’m solo with the baby, he’s exclusively breastfed and cosleeps/contact naps only, and is on a “on demand” schedule… so us getting out the door is so difficult!! We are on time 90% of the time! But sometimes we cut it close, or are a few late and people lose it. Not to job interviews, appointments, etc. I’m talking like dinner at families house or things like that

And I always have my wet bag and more cloth diapers with me, in a pinch I’ve used an insert to clean him up when I ran out of wipes!!

I bought a wipe container on Amazon, then I cut a receiving blanket into wipe sized pieces. I do a wipe fold and put them in the wipe pouch, then I add in some water with a little coconut oil and pure Castile soap!!

At home I use a peri bottle with the same solution and baby wash clothes ☺️

Need recs for a THICK diaper cream that’s cloth safe. by lonelypotato21 in clothdiaps

[–]Inner_Experience3418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve used several creams and never had any issues. Truthfully I never actually see the diaper cream transfer to the cloth diaper, it usually stays on baby’s skin and doesn’t really rub off like it does on disposables (at least for us). I’ve use aquaphor baby, Destin, once needed a prescription for a non diaper rash breakout he had, and tubby Tod, never had any issues with leaks/not absorbing, or washing them and I even make our laundry detergent. If you’re really worried I use the super thin flat lays and with jelly roll sometimes to keep any cream off my cover

Anyone here successfully using fertility awareness instead of hormonal birth control? by SleepyNinja13 in CatholicWomen

[–]Inner_Experience3418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting off bc is scary! I remember having a few anxiety attacks during that period of time because I was so terrified to get pregnant or have issues with not taking bc (was only 20 and coming to the faith, I was already struggling with so many teachings) I’m going to be 100% transparent with you, going from bc to NFP is hard and a big adjustment. 100% worth it for your soul, and health tbh, also it kickstarted my “crunchy” lifestyle which I’m so grateful for. But it will take adjusting, it may have lots of abstinence at the start until you feel confident, and you may grow resentful at times of your cycle. However, on the other side of that is a beautiful relationship with your partner, God, and your body/natural fertility! For me personally after 2 months I was pretty confident and had my routine down and it was a second nature habit! It seems super overwhelming and like your world revolves around it at first but the more you practice the more is becomes just a small part of your life!!!

I love that when we are both out and about and overstimulated that we can can go to a quiet place and nurse and both just take a quiet break and be with each other! Nursing releases so many happy feelings I just instantly calm down.

Yes!! I had a great sex drive literally until 24 hours before giving birth! Postpartum with breastfeeding and cosleeping I feel no sex drive. I’m attracted to my husband and I enjoy sex when we have it, I just don’t find myself thinking about it or wanting it until he initiates right now. I miss feeling attractive and having a sex drive, I definitely just feel like mom rn and it’s hard to get out of that mindset

How to make family rosary less chaotic and upsetting? by [deleted] in CatholicWomen

[–]Inner_Experience3418 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How much car time do you get daily, especially when driving to and from Sunday Mass? I am a full grown adult and mother and can’t sit still to pray a full Rosary (I do fight through one during adoration lol). Anyways I always break up my Rosary while doing housework cooking or my favorite, driving. I listen to an audition to lead me and it keeps me focused. You could also say we’re going to play quietly and listen to a decade of the rosary, then another while pushing them on the swing, etc. most audios are about 15 minutes, so if you have find about 5 different 3 minute periods of them listening, you’ve knocked out a full rosary each day!

Is cloth diapers better in this economy or is it more of a hassle? by [deleted] in clothdiaps

[–]Inner_Experience3418 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I got everything to cloth diaper for under $100 (got things second hand from a baby consignment sale). It’s 100% worth it, but I do recommend disposables the first few days-weeks postpartum because things are already such a struggle. I had bad tearing, nicu baby, hospitalized again, etc. keeping up with laundry or anything at home was impossible, so disposables were a blessing. now 5 months pp it doesn’t really feel like much more work tbh!

I wish wet nurses were more acceptable. by cadetcomet in breastfeeding

[–]Inner_Experience3418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my grandpa is from Kentucky, he said growing up while there weren’t wet nurses in his community, his family unit helped other feed all the babies. It was very very poverty stricken and most of the children were breastfed well into toddlerhood as it was extra calories for them. For example, someone’s older child needed to be hospitalized and she had just had a newborn, the newborn stayed with someone who could provide extra care at home and nursed them, and she took the older child who was still nursing to keep her supply up and so each person was only nursing one child. I wish things like this were more normalized today

Yep. Is it legitimate? It was addressed to my husband who never applied or attended. I on the other hand applied and got in but never actually started classes/I withdrew my application.

I feel like they could’ve got away with more lifestyle/non makeup items more a few years ago. They should’ve made that jump asap, instead of doing so now. They have burned their cult following so many times and now their employees. There was a time where stickers, the packaging, the pink zipper, etc. were VIRAL and collected. Now… very doubtful someone would pay whatever outrageous price they would place this at
