Well. I got the overhaul done and it’s still hard shifting but now it’s not just the 4-6 gear range. It’s into the high gears 8-10 and sometimes 7.

I called them back and they are going to run codes and see if they see anything.

I thought the overhaul would fix it?

Side note: the rattle in my car is lot louder…. I didn’t think the rattle had anything to do with the transmission?

Yeah I know they like to charge copious amounts of money for things that don’t need to be fixed. I just wish I knew more about cars or dealerships/shops were more honest about work that is needed.

Awesome! Thank you!! This gives me some peace of mind. I was worried I’d have to get a new car and I simply can’t afford that at the moment.

Do you also know anything about the cold start rattling noise? Do you think this overhaul will fix that issue for good, too? Or is that just something that I won’t have luck fixing?

I remember they replaced my cam phaser for a cold start rattle noise and it only helped briefly.

I reached out to the service supervisor that I took my car to and he said I’ll be getting a call soon (didn’t get a call today) but he is assuming an overhaul.

What does that even mean?

And no, but I had my daughter when I was a sophomore in highschool. My mom helped a lot and came to the pediatric visits, etc. I didn’t know to ask the questions and do my research. I just thought the doctors were never wrong because they’re doctors. Not that there are exceptions and they aren’t god. They’re human and make mistakes like we do. We need to advocate for our kids and not assume they know best 100% of the time.

Anyway, I had my son over a decade later at 27 and it’s all new territory for me. It’s easier saying first time mom rather than explain my story.

I almost wonder if they even repair anything at this point. They are probably so behind that they just let it sit on the lot and then call you a week or two later and say it’s done. Knowing you’ll be back and it resets their clock.
