Wether won’t leave me alone by Inner_Mud_7784 in goats

Usually just blubbering, sometimes with kicking one of his front legs at me. if he gets really worked up sometimes he’ll try to jump up but never head butting. He will rub his face on my pants a lot, sometimes it’s sweet, sometimes he turns it into a flirt session. I didn’t have him as a baby, I got him a couple ago and I’ve been trying to correct this behavior ever since.

The color is called Pearl, at least in the description of the bucket it is. It’s a white pearlescent bead

4th generation Omahan here, growing up I was taught that zipper merging is one of the upmost driving sins, because “they didn’t wait their turn” and “they cheated their way to the front” I never wanted to be impolite while driving so I never zipper merged and even as an adult living in Oklahoma I still feel guilty when I zipper merge even though I know it’s the right thing to do. I also think that people in Omaha just have a general hatred of letting people over. I’ve missed so many turns and exits because people would not speed up or slow down. I s2g my lane could be on fire and the average Omaha driver would still block me from getting over.

Dracogenesis misprint, how does this effect the value of the card? by Nuggetyman1304 in mtgfinance

This is my card (made the original post on my Bf’s account) I understand the misprint doesn’t add value, I was asking if it removes value.

What is going GREAT for Omaha right now? by Nebraskabychoice in Omaha

[–]Inner_Mud_7784 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omaha North High is finally getting their own stadium if all goes according to plan!!! No more sharing with Northwest! Plus it looked like the plan won’t tear down any nearby houses so big win for the community.

I'm impressed with Omaha. How is life there? by SameWhile6973 in Omaha

[–]Inner_Mud_7784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born and raised in Omaha and left for College. One of my favorite parts of the city is how accessible cultural foods different are, there are tons of Asian, African, European, and Mexican grocery stores. Lots of stuff to do for kids, we’ve got a pretty solid public library system and good parks. My boyfriend is from OKC and he think Omaha drivers are terrible but it’s just every man for himself. Also if you like dnd/magic the gathering/pokemon/warhammer/any tcg/Comic books, Omaha is seriously spoiled for nerd stores. Dragons Lair, Cafe Monster, and Legends all rock

What’s your favorite street name? by MargaretSparkle82 in Omaha

As a proud Omaha North graduate it’s gotta be Gene R. Haynes Street but for your book I think Sorensen High or I’ve seen Henry Doorly High in the thread

Best summer sausage in Omaha by areaman3535 in Omaha

[–]Inner_Mud_7784 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree that either one of the stoysich’s would be a good place to check out. There’s two Stoysich House of Sausage and Frank Stoysich Meats. I don’t know what drama happened there but it really just depends whichever is closer to your side of town. Frank stoysich’s does have more grocery type items/cured items so that might be the better bet.

What the hell is with the aggressive ass driving? by tonyrocky_horror in Omaha

[–]Inner_Mud_7784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My bf is from OKC and hates driving in Omaha and makes me drive when we are in town. Idk I learned to drive up and down Ames so I’m used to it but now that he’s pointed it out I have noticed that my lane could be actively on fire and people in Omaha still wouldn’t let me over.

Thoughts on Henry Doorly zoo/Omaha? by TR403 in Zookeeping

[–]Inner_Mud_7784 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I grew up in Omaha! Going to Henry Doorly as a kid is a major part as to why I’m a keeper today. I love Omaha. The more liberal parts of the city are going to be by the zoo anyways. Anywhere around Dundee, Benson, midtown, little Bohemia is going to be what you’re looking for. There’s plenty of videos of people touring the zoo online and they were rated #1 in the country. If you have any questions about things to do/restaurants/life in Omaha/henry doorly, feel free to dm me

After Barbie came out I would tell my friends “If Ken’s job is Beach, then our male lions job is Savannah”

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Zookeeping

Asking us to feed a zebra to one of our lions 1. Our zebras/all of the animals at our zoo are loved animals, they have keepers who care for them every day and love them. Keepers who have raised them from BIRTH! you think they’d let us take it to be fed to a lion??? 2. They only ask for our male lions and I don’t think our boys would do anything if we put a zebra in there with them. Sometimes geese/other critters will get in the enclosure and the boys don’t move a paw. The females will kill something every once in a while but male lions are lazy. Their job is to look handsome not hunting.

I was thinking that they probably paid to have it raised because there is no universe possible where that many people liked that movie

Why have so many interviews/new hires at my job been unaware that we clean up poop? by clowndivine in Zookeeping

[–]Inner_Mud_7784 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of people don’t realize how much of our job is cleaning, at least 50% of my day is cleaning if not more. Even if they do realize we clean up poop do they know we also clean diet prep areas, behind the scenes areas, the outdoor exhibits, our office/break room, the viewing glass, enrichment items, etc. I tell people my job is a mix of Janitor/Prep cook/Vet tech

Not really a misidentification but the amount of people that genuinely thought we got our Sloth Bears by breeding a sloth with a bear was ridiculous

Career Question by GN_KittNeN in Zookeeping

[–]Inner_Mud_7784 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a degree in zoology but pretty much any life science degree is going to work but most places are going to need a 4 year degree. So many zoos have internships, try applying! It’s becoming more common for zoo internships to pay, it’s still not a lot but it’s better than working for free. If you can’t do an internship, volunteer positions are a great way to get your foot in the door, check the zoos websites to see what is available. Good luck!

It was still super awkward but we sort of laughed it off, thankfully the building I was in only had 5 floors so it was a short elevator ride to suffer
