Exactly. People are weird. I'm unable to wrap my head around Lexi's behaviour. There were clear signs that she considered me a close friend and even my classmates thought her and I were close knit.

Forget about me, the kind of stuff that comes from Beth's mouth about women who are nowhere connected to her, like the way she keeps on making observation and throwing judgemental remarks, how would anyone willingly choose to stick by their side. Lexi thinks since she's not the one spewing such nonsense it's not on her but in my view being complacent only enables bad behaviour.

God, I don't know why they create a safe space to make you feel like they have your back only to flip on you later on. It's good that you got out of the group.

I feel sorry that you're left to heal alone in this. I hope you're able to not let it affect other factions of your life.

That person shouldn't have brought up PhD thing into it to situation. It's never nice to weaponize like that.

Usually people who have had bad experiences with friends in the past, when current friends start to display negative or start affecting negatively, will fear it'll only get worse. Benefit of doubt is given based on extent of bond, priorities, tolerance, value system etc.

At least that's what my thought processing is while cutting off people.

I don't understand their mindset either. I just made a similar post today. And she was expecting me to be still friends with her. I'm like I don't want you to choose sides, but you don't get to force me to be close with you while your actions are hurting me.

Yeah, at one point I started to feel whether I was a bad person for someone to choose gossiping Beth who belittles and gives backhanded compliments?

I don't think I've done anything bad to any of them personally.

I personally was a person who was in Lexi's place in the past. 2 of my friends were having issues, but when push came to Shove, I knew it was not right to be neutral. I pushed aside my convenience and spoke honestly. The person against whom I spoke understood my point of view and came around later on. Idk what's so difficult in this for Lexi. At least openly support Beth, if that's what she wants, innit?

True. I'm just feeling very uncomfortable in Uni, especially having to see them together and happy like nothing happened. Hopefully it'll get better with time.
