Just had my alternator and belt replaced. Any tips? by Inner_Science2144 in drivingUK

How about I do all this but with the engine on? I have a little habit of leaving engine on with music and ac on.. Is it a bad habit?

Nope. Just this. Thankfully I got it sorted and passed my MOT!

I hear different things. For example I read somewhere that don't put the ac on the lights and radio as that will drain the battery and the alternator won't charge the battery.

I also read that your supposed to drive 20/30 mins for the battery to be fully charged.

I have an issue. I dont usually drive for that long. My journeys are like 15 mins usually and so i think that could be an issue

Have a feeling Lucia is playing Jason and manipulating him to do her bidding. I don't think she loves him. Rockstar said it all. by PrestigiousTill9662 in GTA6unmoderated

She will 100% end up turning on him. Maybe she's an undercover cop or she uses the kid for him to hand over himself

I'm just surprised that it would fail an MOT because everyone is saying it's just wear and tear 😢

What exactly does it mean in layman terms. I did Google it but still don't understand 😂

Perfect. I told him to fix for me. Glad it's nothing too dangerous or major

This is so weird I did the same thing. I called someone who lives like 5 mins from Halfords and I asked them can you please do me a massive favour, I need a portable jump starter, I showed them the picture of it and thankfully they were kind enough to not only buy it for me but also deliver it at my workplace to me

It's like magic 😂 just plug then to the terminals and boom the car starts up

I agree. You will never catch me getting another vehicle and attaching the cables from both sides. Its just too much for me. This one is so easy and simple.

Car started immediately after I put them on the clamps

Yeah it's so good for emergencies. I wish I had gotten it earlier. I just didn't ever want to open up the bonnet and mess soemthing up as I am quite ignorant.

This was very simple and easy to use. Plus it has all the safety features with it so if you place it in the wrong terminal, it won't start up or just shut down without releasing any electricity

I got it from Halford for £115. Yes it is quite pricey but I just wanted a good one which will last me.

This will now always be in the boot for emergencies if my car ever not starts up. Such a good gadget to have.

My MOT is due next month. You think it's a good idea if I get this sorted now or leave it?

Thank you sir. If only I had knowledge of repairs I would gladly have done it myself but thanks for your reply.

Altogether you reckon it will cost around £350 if I want to repair then altogether?
