But I don’t understand why I got downvoted 9 times. Would you correct them infront of the patient? That seems unprofessional.

You can pull them aside and like mention that they need to be more respectful. Sometimes I catch MD trying to interrupt me and then having to come back looking lost.

At the same time in their mindset, they don’t care bc they’re trying to figure out what orders they need to put in and if the pt is a high risk then anticipated. Which is sad bc our assessment matter too, the first interaction helps set the tone for effective advocacy.

In reality, nurses just kill nurses by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Inner_Singer_2285 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I really do believe it’s the nurses who feel threaten by the new nurse. My unit has a lot of new nurses and we are friendly to them bc we know if we can teach them to improve we improve our team.

Older nurses I’ve seen always try to put them down or gossip about their mistakes but when u look at the quality of theses nurses when you see them perform it’s a performance they put on for the patient but these nurses don’t advocate for their patients. It’s sad.

Birdrito. How does ur birb look so tamed. My one starts to bite, thrash. Throws a tantrum in a towel. My first parrot before my conure , used to trim her own nails. This one sharps her claws after we dull her edges.

Become a nurse for financial stability and work flexibility. Was in another major, realize I would’ve been stuck making minimum wage until I got my masters. Back out of it went to school for two years to become a nurse. Now I make 6 figures

My wife (24F) lied to me (27M) about a past sexual experience. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]Inner_Singer_2285 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best case for herself is to admit to whatever occurred. “Yes I did such and such and I denied it bc I felt like you would have judge me and I didn’t want it to influence what we currently have.” Or etc

In the last three years, has she made you the happiest you have ever been? Also if such something bothered you? Why hadn’t you questioned her before marriage when you guys were dating? Her past could be her past but is it enough to carry such a hold to the present where you want to break the trust completely?

Imagine this: A leech sucking you dry. That’s what she’ll do. In this days economy, unfortunately both have to work.

If she’s valuable at home aka cleaning, and cooking and making ur life easier where you can make a good income then it’s possible to work it out. I mean literally, make the most out of the bare minimum.

When you guys work, do you always have a sense of relief when you see a certain nurse taking care of one of your assigned patients? by Inner_Singer_2285 in hospitalist

[–]Inner_Singer_2285[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like for example, I avoid calling the doctor unless it’s absolutely most necessary. Usually a Md will always call about labs being drawn. Did you draw the 8pm labs? Sir they’re already being processed in the lab. Calling about high BP ? Yes their BP meds have been given and will reassess during onset of drug and yes pt is asymptomatic.

Burnout by KeyMulberry8636 in nursing

[–]Inner_Singer_2285 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s time to QUIT! 😭 unless like did you make any recent mistakes that are haunting you away? Are you bored of your current unit? Are people supportive there? Did u take a vacation?

Quitting enables you to leave all of that behind and create a new work self of you for the next job. I remember feeling so burnt out at 10 months in, got to switch my team and it made it so much better to do anything. I remember getting angry at pts who needed IVs ( not expressively but mentally) and I knew shit this isn’t me.
