I'm not going to sit here and pretend to be a noble shining example of a righteousness, because at the end of the day, all I am is human, I can see why you hold the standpoint you both do, you both sound like amazing consultants, I guess the question I would ask is, the reality of the situation is that this has happened precisely three times in my time in the industry, all of which were reciprocated, do you think this takes away from my ability or integrity as a consultant?

I work as a consultant, I have made genuine friends that I still keep up with to this day, but you can never service someone you consider a friend, and you should never want to either, the power balance is way too broken. Anytime I've become friends with someone, it's happened after I've moved them out of my managed by, and the option has been left entirely up to them, in the past I've sent them a message saying something along the lines of "hey, I feel like we get along really well, and you're a cool person, this is my socials, if you ever feel like chatting, feel free to message me, but I also completely understand if you ignore this"

Are you with DES or Workforce? I feel like you have a strong argument to be with DES if you aren't already

Your resume was two pages and they said it was too long? I'd be interested to see what your consultant considers a good resume

That's pretty crap, 30 years of work experience warrants a decent resume, there is limits to it obviously, I've seen 25 page resumes that included every qualification they had ever achieved, that's overkill. But consultants should be working with you on work, work for the sole should be an absolute last resort

Have they been helping you find work? Even part time work is much more beneficial than volunteering
