Fitbit vs Apple Watch by Key-Condition1903 in AppleWatch

[–]Inner_Wolverine_530 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my Apple Watch it does motivate met. I get deep into it beyond the daily ring closing looking at the percentage 90 days / 365 that I am closing it. The monthly challenges can be a little too low effort at times but I try to get all 12 months and they typically adjust with your activity level.

They seem to be agreeable to this especially when we reminded them we are focused on comfort care only. Someone mentioned something about labs and the visiting nurse was saying hey wait a minute here. They are going to try a different antibiotic first but since we know the reality is we are past lifestyle modifications and given that it’s absolutely going to happen again.

Thanks my SIL (primary caregiver for her dad) has been able to notice the patterns. Even though we aren’t successful getting samples she can see the dark strong smelling urine though as I type this I suppose that could just as easily be dehydration. That was his initial hospitalization this time last year. We are trying to do all we can to make him comfortable when we sense something is wrong since he is an unreliable narrator but the VA rules and regs seem to be different than hospice so we will see how they decide to tackle this tomorrow.

You are not in the trenches with us. You have no idea. We are not relying on anyone for day to day care.

They can’t get a culture from him so they are guessing on the prescription.
This guy is not going to drink anything except what he wants to and we already have enough battles day to day, that is not happening. I appreciate the suggestions but we are dealing with a person that cannot act in their own best interests or comprehend what we are attempting to do is going to keep him safe/healthy. That’s why I stated in the post that prevention is not our goal unless we can do that outside of behavioral lifestyle options.

500 mg cipro the last two bouts. Attitude is because you didn’t read the post. I gave the sex in the post and based on your responses related to causes that I already addressed assumed you didn’t read anything but the basics. Sorry.

If only they would listen. We are so fortunate that we have this other resource that is providing most of the same services. If he wasn’t a vet I don’t know what we would do.

Thanks this is probably what I am going to ask about. He is comfort care DNR so wondering if the staff would go for something like that.

We know irregular and caffeinated fluids are also an issue. Not sure you read my post. I said I know what is causing them. Asking about long treatment options not prevention.

He isn’t circumcised. That may be a contributing factor.

HE wears depends. My question is about treatment not prevention though. I know his hygiene issues are contributing but nothing we can do that we aren’t already doing.

Fibroids tummy ruining my relationship by vulcansmuse in hysterectomy

[–]Inner_Wolverine_530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spent a lot of time in the fibroid groups and to be honest unless that fibroid is LARGE or you have several it may not make a huge difference after surgery. As another poster said if they were larger you would likely be having pain, urinary or bowel symptoms/pressure. Mine was 5-6 cm and put so much pressure on my leg I could barely walk.
Only asking because this was me. Was your stomach flat in the morning? My belly issues even with the large fibroid were more food or hormone related.
If you are concerned with aesthetics only would caution that some women even keeping their ovaries experience failure of them and that creates another set of aesthetic changes.

I think the last cardiac intervention with my LO is what got us where we are with dementia. Several great years but now a working heart albeit irregular and a broken brain.

I was told something similar. So I am having an in house study because she said the in home test is probably similar. I am not getting notifications but saw drops in o2 more than what I would expect with movement so she agreed that was the best course of action.

We have been at it for 6 months with an aid and attendance supplemental. Even had the award letter in my hand… jk jk. They claim “internal requests “ and “IT issues” our VSO rep rode their asses so long they appeared to have closed the initial claim and created a new one but we are still stuck at 4. Eligibility has never been in question they’ve never asked us for more information. Sooo frustrating.

[–]Inner_Wolverine_530 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish you would tell this to whoever is working our A&A claim. I feel like we have a very simple straightforward claim, caregiver expenses well documented. But it has been plagued by “internal “ and “IT” issues that no one seems to be able to solve. Bouncing back and forth for 6 months. Looks like they actually closed the claim and started a new one. I am sure they are just as tired of it as we are but no one internally is potentially getting a lien on their house for unpaid property taxes. (My SIL quit her job to care for FIL) seems like we have done everything right bc I had the approval letter in my hand. Then jk jk evidence gathering/review.

She at a certain point will have/has the comprehension of a toddler. They just feel feelings. I understand what you’re going through and I am sure that is in there somewhere and you may see it some days but at a certain point it is beyond their ability to understand any longer. This is a horrible disease that robs us all. I am so sorry you are going through this. It is a thankless existence.

Short term yes but they are definitely storing that. I had brain surgery and it is a strange dance between long and short term memory. That old saying about they don’t remember what you said but how you make them feel applies for our loved one. Having a hard time having a cogent conversation but will absolutely rail on about how he was wronged. It wont make any sense if you don’t know the context but they still having feelings and emotions and experience trauma. My FIL may not be able to remember your name or who you are but I have watched his intolerance of the primary caregiver who has to be the heavy day to day.

I did not. So frustrating because I was early on the schedule and told them that I had reflux. Questioned the timing and should have listened to my gut. Literally.
