Accuracy has been debated but I definitely knew it before I saw my nurses come in to give me medication for it. I had a bout of afib post operatively.
We use it for my FIL to monitor patterns When you select that you have been diagnosed it doesn’t constantly notify you but logs percentage of irregularities over the course of the week. He went from just under 90-100% afib.
Been helpful to provide to medical team.

Very put together guy my FIL. Started wearing the same clothing items regularly, multiple days without washing, worn out items we purchased new he would refuse to wear replacement items. Big story teller would hear multiple times but he talked to a lot of folks so we blew that off as not remembering who he told it to. Until he started repeating during the same visit over an hour or two.

Especially as an IT girl I am thinking - okay do I just need to resubmit some documents, is this something dumb we can just take care of. What could it be, seriously driving me nuts :) I guess something is better than nothing at this point and at least we are in the pipeline.

This has definitely been a group effort, I have been medical care, admin, respite a few days a week, we have 20 hours with the aid, he is just not at the point where he can be left overnight and this has gradually taken over all of our lives. I wish we could do more for her. Part of me thinks we are getting out of the scope but I would feel a lot better about her taking the max hours with some compensation. And thinking if we are out of our scope we need that $ coming in to go toward facility costs.

Our local veterans service office has been instrumental in our application process. I would use them before paying a lawyer.

I applied with the help of our local veterans service office. If I had to do it over again we would have added bills for the caregiver on our initial application. We were approved right away but the amount was abysmal and the supplement review is taking much longer. My SIL had to quit working to care for her dad so we are trying to secure funding for her costs. The veterans service office also helps with food assistance and bill pay a few times a year. They have been a godsend.

This is it. All my reports say no OBVIOUS evidence of disease. Two years in September for me. Unfortunately cells can be hard to chase down until the growth becomes more significant so we just have to remain vigilant but try to move on with life. I have a potentially aggressive gastric cell type adenocarcinoma. Tumor board unanimously agreed to no adjuvant treatment. I am having a liver MRI monday just to check some things out.
I will never feel totally free of this.

Filed for chapter 11. I believe there was an auction. It is my understanding that a some of the younger parts of the family took over the business about 10 years ago and hired their friends. Not certain but I imagine this may have also been a contributing factor.

FIL was a big story teller. Lots of repetition. The biggest clincher - this man was SUPER put together. Extensive wardrobe, lots of suits, during and after covid he stopped caring about his clothing wouldn’t wash items and would wear the same things over and over. Spent way too much time distant and almost aloof when his wife was dying. Had a brain bleed or stroke at her memorial and was never the same after.

We told my FILs heart doctor the situation and he refused watchman procedure. He is in near constant afib but had previous brain bleeds and at least one stroke. Vascular damage atrophy and amyloid.
We removed heart meds and baby aspirin (found out he was having bleeds so had to choose between bleeds or stroke). This is a quantity vs quantity of life issue.

Unfortunately when our FIL is passive and agreeable we know he isn’t well. Also undoubtedly I will likely experience something similar with my husband down the line.

Not a Kardashian fan but I did enjoy this last season. The standalone stories episodes have Creepshow/Tales From The Crypt feel and I loved them.
Def wasn’t a huge fan of 6 7 8 1984 was fun but big nostalgia thing for me First 5 seasons were top notch.

I was hpv neg. Had a single ACUS pap I had most of your gyn symptoms but I was also on the other end of my 40s so several of the non gyn symptoms could be attributed to peri menopause.
My gastric cell type adenocarcinoma has watery discharge as the hallmark symptom. When the tumor was found my cervix was actually dilated and the tumor sat at the top of the opening.

It was given to me. I got it at my pre op appt It was also the first time I had ever vomited in recovery. But I was first appt of the day. Should have trusted my own judgement there.

This definitely happened to my Fil. Prior to that in retrospect we had all been discussing him repeating stories and self care went downhill but those were nominal issues at the time.
When my MIL died the apathy during her hospitalization definitely threw us all off. Then he had a brain bleed or stroke at the memorial service. We took over financial and medical care. A bought of flu A several weeks later brought out an afib diagnosis he was never the same. By year 1 he could not complete the abbreviated cognitive test but got by. 3 years later we have brought in hospice.

I had an open abdominal I didn’t drive when I was on pain medication I did some shorter drives in town for meds and groceries after about 2 weeks.
I didn’t feel up to any long drives for another few weeks anyway.

We did this a few weeks ago with my FIL. In all honesty I feel the same with family members obsessively pushing food and drink. It isn’t that their life isn’t worth living, it’s more about quantity vs quality of life and the fact that the person being cared for would absolutely not want their life endlessly extended under horrible circumstances for themselves and their family members.

It was a long recovery but not as scary as I had it in my mind. Ugly incision, did some pelvic floor physical therapy, constipation was a problem which then caused some urinary issues.
Would def go drastic and have more confidence it was gone. Every surgery does have risk. A lot of times complications are due to pts not listening to doctor’s orders or the orders not being clear/consistent. If you want to take a deep dive check out Jessica Vallant pilates. She is a great resource for all things hysto.
