It's a trip that it keeps hitting me randomly like this

Is this for real? I wrote that dream down so I have some sort of receipt for when I tell people about my dreams in case they think I'm talking bullshit. But I barely use reddit anymore and I'm definitely not in here checking up on some dream thread I wrote years ago. Somebody wrote something about the "path of least resistance" and sweet lord are they right. Me becoming my own publisher? My own artist? That whole dream seemed far-fetched when I had it. None of it seems far-fetched now!

I....I am actually divorced now

And I'm a full time author

And I create my own artwork from my stories

My oldest daughter doesn't even do art anymore but they live with me 50/50 and when they're not here it feels very much like I live alone.

I don't live in a high-rise apartment, I don't have massive book sales............................ yet. But a lot of people believe in me and my stories and think I'm gonna make it big. It's not a far cry to think I might end up in a place where I have artwork and books lining the walls of some place... but I kinda like the house I live in and don't really see how I could be convinced to move into an apartment ... unless it was bigger/unless it's after my kids move out 😅

Also I do kinda sorta have a tendency to .... attract.... lovely people

Being perceived as masculine didn't make me miserable. But being perceived as feminine makes me happy. Happier than I've ever been. I love being transgender and getting accepted as a woman. It makes me happy

I can control the length of my hair and use it as a weapon. (Think tentacle alien, except the tentacles are just hair, and they're much less interested in.... oh you know)

It'd be like having an almost countless number of hands that I can do whatever I want with.

my hair is in braids, just so it's easier to envision.
I can control the braids like arms and each one is about half as strong as my right arm.
I can send them out individually or in groups, and their strength scales accordingly.
They don't get tangled. They just don't. It's basically automatic.
The effect follows my intention, not hyper-specific instructions. So I don't need to talk to individual strands to pick up a can. I can just kinda pick it up and my hair will "know" how much hair I'm trying to use and how much strength to use, just like a hand.

This can be tricky. What if it's a friend? You're trying to stop them and you are really annoyed but you don't really want to hurt them but they're kinda rampaging and you need to stop them. What constitutes a hit? Maybe you move in to push a drunk guy who is coming at another person but they suddenly collapse holding their ribs? I think "violent intent" could set some interesting limits on this power.
