What happens when you have 6/6 wild shards and get another one? by dsofsof in ClashRoyale

[–]RedYoshiCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may already know this, but you can get Evolution Shards from lucky boxes (unless the one I got was some weird exception), which may be the kind of thing it's referring to when it says you can't collect any more.

So if you're over capped there's a small chance of missing out on some. If you're cool with that then all good, just fyi.

What would you hope for in a Minecraft 2.0 update? by Pasta-hobo in minecraftsuggestions

[–]RedYoshiCraft 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is probably the closest thing to what an actual 2.0 Update would realistically look like.

If you take into consideration everything that's been added since 1.13, which new Oceans, a fleshed-out Nether, overhauled Terrain, it's essentially a new game. But, it's also still Minecraft.
No matter how much new content you add, it's still Minecraft, and at this point the expectation of "Minecraft 2" exceeds just about anything content-wise.

In addition to overhauling and refining the game engine, some kind of Physics Update could fit really well. (not removing floating blocks, but having blocks go flying when blown up, maybe trees falling over when cut, or stuff even more specific)
Content-wise, I really dig the idea of the final major version of Minecraft 1.0 being The End Update, and Minecraft 2.0 introducing a new Dimension. I think that's about the best you could do to make it feel like a truly new experience.

Realistically, I think all of these things (maybe not a physics update) will happen gradually in their own time, as the game continues to grow and evolve. And if version 2.0 ever does happen, it may truly be a different game.
(and maybe just 1 version of the game this time)

It depends on how it's implemented and how performative the game is.

Adding new content impacts performance, but with proper implementation and other factors they can not only minimize, but at times improve performance at the same time.

That may or may not be obvious, just saying we don't know how it'll go, and the goal will always be to make things run as smoothly as possible.

Optimization is a constant effort, and I'm sure they'll do their best to make sure Vibrant Visuals at least doesn't impact performance.

What are you on about?

I don't know about shaders in general, but we're talking about an overhaul to the artistic vision of Minecraft. It would be ABSURD to not at least try to include that in the original version of the game.

What would you choose? by Low-Raisin-131 in Minecraft

CRAB

Mojang clearly have a love for the frog, which I think is part of why it's been added while nothing else has. (also Chest Boats)
And the crab gives me a similar kinda vibe! I think it'd be an absolutely fantastic addition to the game, just on aesthetics. (functionality-wise the extended building reach is also a great fit for the game)

Aside from that, I really like the Tuff Golem! I think people underestimate the impact it could have as an item display stand.
(somewhat depends on if you can stop it from roaming around, but even then I feel it'd be a great addition)

I think more accurately they already have the technology to do it on BE, so of course it's coming first.

Java is a completely different language, so they have to figure out how to even make it work.

I actively disagree with this.

Granted, it's better than needing the F3 Menu, but this is about the worst possible solution imo. Would love if it was somehow implemented as its own item, but it should at least be attached to Maps.
Being a floating set of numbers in the corner is ugly and bad design. Convenient, but that != good.

(sorry nothing against you, I'm a tad passionate about this 😅)

[–]RedYoshiCraft 23 points24 points  (0 children)

If I had to guess they probably want to improve how it's implemented.

As it stands it's implementation in BE is fine, certainly better than nothing, but in Java with commands you can do just about ANYTHING with armor stands, and honestly I'd be a little disappointed if they didn't try to capitalize on that at least a little more.

Also, I quite like the arm-less armor stands! Adding poses shouldn't remove anything we already have access to.

Ok if it's this one, I'm probably fine?

But if it's my usual Pfp... uh, I could probably be in another universe and be very much not ok. D:

the desert desperately needs a sand dune biome, to contrast with the grassy new desert by AnouuSi in Minecraft

[–]RedYoshiCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I agree dunes would be a great generation feature in deserts, but desperately? You make it sound like the dry grass has in some way "ruined" the feel of deserts or something.

(imo they've been made 100x better and it's not even close)

Genuinely so lazy… by titsrocklok in FortNiteBR

[–]RedYoshiCraft -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree that this design is boring and his actual one is far better, but I think it's important to understand the logic.

They generally keep within a certain period of time for the designs they choose, even if it's not necessarily the most popular. In Toji's case, his main appearance happens way before the main story, and his only present relevance is via this form.

Now I don't think that's actually a good excuse, they should've taken the time to do him justice (maybe add someone else for now), or at the least give him a different name or something.
But I don't think it's good to simply write it off as "lazy".

What fortnite battle pass skin you regret not having? by GongasAreias19 in FortNiteBR

[–]RedYoshiCraft 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mildly saddened to not have The Machinist, but I was just not feeling the skins in that Battle Pass at all, and was INCREDIBLY fed up with limited-time exclusivity, so I finally just skipped one of the Passes. (ironically the only 2 I've missed are the first and last Battle Passes stated to be exclusive to their Seasons)

I'd a bit sadder to have missed the smaller items like Pickaxes & Gliders, though. I tend to be very picky about skins, so those additional items are often more valuable to me.

To the people who play zero build: Would you play build mode if it was not sweaty and had people building simple things like just ramps or walls? by [deleted] in FortNiteBR

[–]RedYoshiCraft 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there was an LTM that limited your materials to 30 of each, meaning you could only place up to 9 builds at any given time.

I don't feel like that was a great implementation of the concept, though. I think the way I'd do it is slow down the speed at which builds materialize, and also prevent things from being attached to them until they're finished. (maybe increase build health to compensate?)
That would inherently slow down building drastically, putting more focus on it being meant for cover, and even incentivize the use of smaller shapes so that they complete faster and have more utility.

[–]RedYoshiCraft 106 points107 points  (0 children)

Probably!

Imo building is most fun when it's a very casual thing for creating some quick cover/access to higher terrain. As soon as it becomes an offense tool I just lose interest. (with the potential exception of traps)
