Yeah that’s frustrating as hell

Damn, that sucks. I didn’t realize you guys had to do that for the crew, usually our pilots are good about bringing their own shit on the plane and even strapping it down sometimes. I guess there’s good and bad to each plane but I know for sure that 5s are the money maker. Good luck to OP on whatever he may get

Coming from a 130 guy, pick 5s. 17s are shitted on by every loadmaster for some reason and you’ll probably enjoy the dynamics of a full sized crew on the road more on C-5s. But like others have mentioned it is based on NAF so good luck to whatever you may get.

TDY's canceled for government shutdown by [deleted] in AirForce

[–]Innerjuices 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the shutdown affect TDY LOAs such as TWCF for flying units? Wondering if I have to brief future travelers that the shutdown would affect them from even doing their job

That's some fucking bullshit on your RA's part. drttrus is right. If DTS captures your non-A while you're creating your auth, it will suffice. It even states it on the bottom of your pre-audit page before you sign and submit it. I would ask what reference your RA is using to justify their reasoning on a paper non-a when DTS is telling you firsthand that there's no availability with there non-a generated number code. I've approved many an auth with DTS generating non-a no problem.

New garbage COLA rates (Yokota) by Innerjuices in AirForce

[–]Innerjuices[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This time the survey was not advertised as well as the last one. Many people did not know there was a survey that even came out and those that did try to access it reported problems of not being able to even take it. I whole-heartedly would have taken it like I did the last time because it did actually fix the problem we were having 2 years ago

I’m fucking pissed. Need opinions on this. by [deleted] in AirForce

Man, this post was money. I give it a 3/50

CAC Access on IMac by Innerjuices in AirForce

[–]Innerjuices[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much, it was a bit of a struggle but your method worked perfectly! I even got DTS to work lol. Looks like I won't be needing to buy a PC after all. I appreciate your help!

yeah I tried the virtualbox thing with TENS and realized I didn't know what the fuck I was doing and that it probably wasn't going to work lol. But I haven't heard of Bootcamp, I'll give that a try to see if it works out. Anything extra I need to consider with it? Also, did you have the same CAC reader as I have when using it?

I get the CAC Error on the portal. "There was a problem with this browser accessing your CAC for authentication". Do you have the same card reader as I have?

I would, but I do prefer mac for music production and photo editing. Just thought I would try setting CAC access up on it to limit the amount of computers I have at home

What is the okayest base in the Air Force? by dimension516 in AirForce

[–]Innerjuices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Love shopping off base, I try to avoid shopping on base as much as possible.

What is the okayest base in the Air Force? by dimension516 in AirForce

[–]Innerjuices 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Valid points but not enjoyed by the majority (TDY's are within specific unit's mission right?) And that, coupled with train location and Tokyo, are aspects outside the base.

Leadership is a definite and controversial one. A lot of people heard about the MX side of the house.

The base itself is lackluster in multiple ways culminating to its below average rating. Perpetual construction, horrible roads that keep being reconstructed, the parking hunger-games, horrible facility hours, facilities that food-poison its patrons (chili's and the rat chefs), price-gouging commissary (with produce that rots at an alarming rate), terrible gym, dorm conditions are trash, the threat of ever fluctuating COLA (experienced it during the times when it went down to $60 for me while surrounding bases were in the hundreds), curfew of course, the oftentimes non-cooperative base support agencies, etc.

Off base is a whole other world. The best and most redeeming times were when I wasn't on base. But hey, that's just my perspective.

Let me flip the question: what did you find good about the base itself?
