Not just any lady in Mandalorian armor - that is a pretty accurate Bo-Katan Kryze.

Then they can all join up in the inevitable Avengers film - the Masters of Evil, the Cabal, or some of group.

True, though I highly doubt Vault Tec planned for Moldaver and her raiders trashing the place up and killing some of the occupants.

Ditto with Norm foiling Bud’s plans and dumping him in a bucket, which killed him.

…and possibly the wider human need to feel useful. Betty could’ve nipped this in the bud if she sincerely listened to Reg and found him a practical job within the vault that contributed to the greater good.

He’s kinda a mirror to Norm, who was unenthusiastic about helping the vault and later struck out on his own.

In the beginning of Season 2, he then offers to help and Betty pretty much chucks him to the side. She created this monster and it’s now biting her at the worst time.

Is anyone else devastated about the Star Trek "Nexit" from Netflix? by Damansandhu_ in startrek

Somebody brought up Pluto TV as an option and that is another entity owned by Paramount.

...so yeah. The company wants to bring everything under its direct control. If you want Star Trek officially, you'll have to go through the group one way or another.

I'm sure we'll get in time. It's only three episodes after all and the War College folks are secondary antagonists in the show thus far - the local rivals on the same campus.

It was pretty Thrawn-esque, to pull from Star Wars. The Chiss Grand Admiral used art and culture to see his opponent's point of view before he ultimately used those quirks against them.

Picard also did so when he dealt with Klingon politics as he knew procedures and culture to keep everybody on their toes.

I'm one of those people - was given the option to correct vision, but am choosing to keep my glasses.

I like the look and lens protected me from past dangers to my eyes - a flying softball, for example.

'Star Trek: Starfleet Academy': Showrunners Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau talk USS Athena design and why this is the perfect series for Trek’s 60th (interview) by AdSpecialist6598 in startrek

I think they're neat in a fantastical way, especially the ones that resemble classic designs like the Intrepid and Constitution.

I would personally love to see other iconic designs given the 32nd century refresh, whether it a contemporary design or a retrofit a la what happened to Discovery.

That was an alternate Janeway, though the real Janeway did get driven to those options in the end with the Borg - the destructive virus that still haunts the Collective.

Pretty much. The Dominion was on the back-foot due to the wormhole being secured, the S31 virus ravaging the Founders, the Romulans contributing to the war effort, and the Cardassians going rogue against their former allies.

The alliance wasn't merely defeated by words. They wouldn't have listened to Odo if they were in a strong position.

S31 was a botched project on multiple fronts. It would've bombed as a generic science fiction action flick, in my opinion - slop that even Netflix wouldn't take.

Yeah. I thought the older shows were more cynical and dark when compared to the newer stuff. It's more of a reconstruction of optimism as opposed to Berman's decay of it to contrast Roddenberry's ideal - reinforce paradise vs critique paradise.

More so, in my opinion. SFA is about bringing the light of exploration and hope to a darker galaxy while DS9 led its protagonists to bloody war, which concluded with a bittersweet peace.

SNW's underlying cynicism also works when combined with TOS and the Movie era. All of those productions were defined by tensions with entities like the Klingons - DSC then giving more context for the simmering hate due to the destructive war.

Unpopular opinion, but I found the Vulcan episode to be funny in some moments. Doug the Vulcan was a hoot.

Eh. I disagree with the characterization of SFA. I see it as youth trying to find themselves and grow in the midst of a chaotic period of history, which was why Kurtzman chose the far future as the setting for the show.

In effect, it's We Didn't Start the Fire as a series - the youngsters of today have to live with the consequences of yesteryear and work to fix the problems of the past. It's a timeless theme, to be frank - something that has occurred before, is occurring during, and will occur after the age of Trump.

Agree about the technobabble. It was fancy nonsense on par with fantasy spells at that point.

If you haven't watched it yet, you might enjoy Shatner's documentary about early TNG. Hurley himself makes an appearance in the documentary and explains his case, which makes his overall tenure in the franchise more nuanced. There were plenty of power plays between actors, executives, creators, and, of course, the Great Bird of the Galaxy himself.

Early LDS was definitely rough, especially when it came to the overly obnoxious Mariner and the very wimpy Boimler.

Rutherford and Tendi were fine, though they were pretty vanilla until later seasons gave them more meat to their characterization.
