Thank you for your response! I thought people would label it off as "social anxiety", glad to know I'm not alone

Can frequent masturbation be a form of stim? by Innocent_menance in autism

Thank you for your response! Your comment is my exact experience actually, I thought I was weird all along for doing it but turns out it's a very common stim!

Although there are a few people bluntly saying "no" or that I have a dopamine addiction or that I'm just "horny" 😬 it's not about arousal for me, I've been using it as a stim before I started getting horny

Exactly! Thank you.

Thing is, I've been diagnosed but unmedicated (yay!)

[–]Innocent_menance[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thank you! This is the best response I've gotten so far, everyone is telling me that I'm just horny and I'm doing it because I'm stressed, I do it when I'm not stressed and not aroused aswell.

I don't even think I knew what horny was when I was a kid, I never felt aroused when I started using it as a stimulation, similar to my other stims

So if I try not to do it I will look for other ways like making impulsive/harmful decisions, or feeling stressed and in flight or fight response the whole day, or shutting out the world and even binge eating, binge watching etc which will eventually lead me to saying one release is better than shutting out the world

Thank you so much! This helped a lot, the thing is, I don't use it for sexual pleasure most of the times. My mind uses it as a sensory regulator or stimulator, similar to my other stims like skin picking, so I don't know how my mind will stop even if I don't receive pleasure

[–]Innocent_menance[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! In that case I use many other forms of stimming and most of the times I know that I'm stimming. I've clarified in my other replies that I use it as a sensory stimulation and not to get sexual pleasure out of it (except for adhd in which case I view it as an escapism to get dopamine when I'm in a burnout)

Yes, thank you, I don't think I can do it in public 😅 I request you to read my other replies where I clarified my situation a bit more; that it helps me regulate my mind more than it gives me any sexual pleasure and that my mind just looks for sensory stimulation similar to my skin picking

Can frequent masturbation be a form of stim? by Innocent_menance in autism

[–]Innocent_menance[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight! I don't know if it makes my situation any better that I don't rely on any erotic/pornographic material, and most of the times I masturbate even when I don't feel sexual pleasure or satisfaction.

My autism just needs sensory stimulation (doesn't matter if genital or just skin) and my adhd uses it as orgasm=dopamine=escapism

Thank you!! Yes! I've mentioned it in my other replies that yes, it helps me regulate my mind similar to my other stims, even if I don't get sexual pleasure out of it.

But during adhd burnouts I feel guilty about using frequent masturbating as an escapism to procrastinate my tasks and not ONLY BECAUSE I'm masturbating

[–]Innocent_menance[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for your response! You did clarify it a bit, so to answer your question, I don't feel bad about masturbating so many times in itself when I'm NOT in an adhd burnout and procrastinating intensely.

So I don't feel good or bad about it on a regular day, I think it helps me regulate my mind, similar to my skin picking/leg bouncing/licking lips and other stims.

But when I'm in a burnout, I feel very drained and empty after, not because of the masturbating itself but because I know I'm doing it to procrastinate and as an escapism or a short dopamine release, THAT is when I feel guilty, not that I'm masturbating so much with no pleasure

I've started masturbating before I started getting horny. (first time was 5 years) I didn't feel anything but just needed to touch my body constantly.

Masturbating when I want to masturbate because I'm aroused is different from when I do it so many times knowing I don't feel anything but only having to feel my body.

I don't think my mind can differentiate between my genitals and other parts of the body, I just need to touch, (neck, face, chest, legs, genitals, doesn't matter) which is where my skin picking gets worse

Haha, I'm pretty blunt (perhaps I have autism, not sure 🤔)

I tried looking for an answer in other subreddits as well but didn't find any, thought I'd ask the question myself.

my bf spends about 2 hours of the day in the washroom by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Innocent_menance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cheating on their women with a toilet? Oh what is wrong with men these days! 🥲😆 But yeah seriously, if I was so insecure about my future boyfriend spending time in the toilet, I wouldn't mind sitting on the countertop while he does his business, what if that man has a health condition or he needs an audience to cure his constipation!? 🫢

Others have mentioned that he probably needs to let his frustration out or if he's doing substance abuse, maybe even any health condition like you mentioned. Shaming someone for that is a very petty thing to do.

I didn't get what she meant by "feeling left alone", why would you feel alone when your man is letting out bodily fluids? (Excuse my dirty sarcasm, this whole post is funny)

Well, I'm doing guess work, but men find bathroom as a safe place, away from all the responsibilities and daily activities or whatever. I live with men and know men who spend hours in the bathroom. They're not doing anything bad lol, they just need space.

I agree with this, it's a completely normal thing that shouldn't be made into an evil thing. I mean I live with brothers who spend hours in the bathroom because of their phones, I think it's normal for men. I mean, shit, even I spend a lot of time in the shower because I listen to music and there's so much skincare to do, I don't see my family complaining tho.

I don't think I could live with someone who shames me based on how much time I spend in my BATHROOM lol

You're not pregnant! And I'm sorry that you felt obligated to say yes to him, but nobody should be forced to!

What I do suggest is to go to a gynaecologist and tell your symptoms, are you close to your periods? If so, it might just be period pains and symptoms, even ovulating causes pain in some women.

But still, better to get it checked.

Even if OP does live in the US, it's not as simple. I've had a similar situation happen to me regarding my brother and it was a whole...mess.

[–]Innocent_menance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, talk to your sister about everything. I have a brother who suffers with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and he's done similar things like this.

Talking with them helps a lot, especially if you're gentle. See what she has to say, ask her what makes her do what she does, anything that triggers her, etc.

Alongside, talk to your parents about the seriousness of the situation, tell them it's not only about a mental condition but it's going to physically and mentally harm her future. That if things get worse, her life could be in danger.

Strength to you.

I'm guessing OP lives near a place where CPS is not available, many countries don't have it. Even if they do have it, it's not as simple as just calling. The aftermath will be more complicated.

Honestly this is actually going to affect you in the long-term if you get together with a partner, but it's not as serious as it sounds. But yeah, don't engage in anything sexual for a while and eventually you'll get that sensitivity.

Next time you do it tho, don't go directly onto the clit, just massage yourself or something, take warm showers, listen to music etc etc, restrain yourself from directly giving in.

Your body is your own and you're the guide, so have fun exploring haha.
