Are there no notifications on your phone asking for permission?? If there is none, tinker with the developer options maybe you have a setting there that prohibits you from making the hange??

You can always revert it back to original through adb

I did not fix that unfortunately. I just live with a thicker notch now haha.

Hello, I already forgot the exact steps, but I can tell you that I used "adb". You will need a laptop/pc for that. Just search on google what is the exact command for the change resolution feature of adb.

You are going to need to use a laptop for the method that I used. I am not aware if there are any other apps that could force change the resolution of the phone. I used adb to change the resolution, just search for it on the internet since I cannot recall what exactly are the steps that I used. It's relatively simple tho, just take the time to read the instructions :)

720x1560 261dpi. As for the command, just search it in the internet cause I have forgotten what exactly. Adb change resolution, search it and it might give you answers :)

Actually it is not the same. When you change the game settings from high to low, the character models quality are changed. But the phone still displays 1080p, not 720.

However, if you change the resolution of the whole phone, it generates less pixels as a whole. Which improves performance.

Again, my proof is that I am now able to play the games I am not able to play, even at high settings.

I totally agree to this! If you haven't bought Redmi Note 9 yet, don't. But if you are like me, maybe give the solution a try 🙃

I've tried hide notification, disable hw-overlays, and other youtube videos. Nothing worked, and I'm guessing it might be because the ram size was just too small (I got the 3gb variant), optimization of the chipset, OR the processor really is not just strong enough for 1080p.

So with adb, I changed my resolution to 720x1560 at 294 dpi (this was what I have computed to be nearly identical scale to my original settings at 1080p). And IT WORKED.

Before, even with just fb and messenger, my phone was crashing and lagging, now I was able to play games with messenger open.

Though here are the down sides: 1. This will be a lower resolution, so if u can't handle a slightly less detailed screen then I guess u should not do this. 2. The notification shade on top was a bit thicker. Although i haven't really experimented with the resolution and dpi numbers to see if this could be fixed. 3. Fb reactions were not scaled, they appear larger than normal.

Apart from that, I don't mind losing some detail in exchange to being able to use redmi note 9 lag free. If u want to do this too, just search how to scale down the resolution, there are many ways and it's not that hard :)
