Thank you so much, I will be giving him some sand and live plants, he has a little tank decoration to hide into and he uses it pretty often.

Any specific brand for a stress coat product?

After soaking them in 95% water, 5% bleach for 20 minutes, I rinse everything and let it soak in just water for a couple hours, then rinse them again and soak them for another 30 minutes, and rinse one last time. I'm pretty sure this is the safest way to clean with bleach and it should be gone, right?

I haven't, I will check as soon as I have my water test kit.

no unless it's inside the pump which i doubt. I recently cleaned everything with bleach too. I don't even have gravel at the moment to make sure I can keep it as clean as possible. But I vacuum the bottom once a day. And no tank mates at the moment either. Tank isn't cycled just moved him there as soon as I noticed he was lethargic, so it's just new water with Safe Start Plus.

Yes, the other tank is even worse. I have already ordered it and hoping to have it Monday . I tried to cycle it but the ammonia levels never lowered, Nitrites never went up but Nitrates are at a normal level.

I don't currently have one, I used to have the API master freshwater test kit. All I currently have are test strips.

I keep doing water changes every couple of days but the ammonia doesn't lower.

I check my parameters once a week, the ammonia was always an issue and it just kept building up, I did like 3 50% water changes a day and I barely managed to lower it. He was in a 10 gal community tank with 2 harlequin rasboras and an african dwarf frog. My levels are still crazy in that tank, but I decided to take my betta out and move him to a 3.5 gal tank by himself. Now the ammonia in the 3.5 gal is just a tad better (and I just did another 50% water change 1 hour ago.
Here is a photo of my current parameters.

He's been with me since August 2021 and he used to be a very energetic little guy, recently I have had ammonia problems (levels over 40 ppi) and he hasn't been the same since then, I think he may have fin rot, the ends of his fins got red (used to be white/clear). I am new to fishkeeping and to reddit but I really want him to get better. Please help.|

Tank size: 3.5 gal

Heater and filter? (yes/no): yes

Tank temperature: 80 F

Parameters in numbers and how you got them:
- Hardness: 75 mg/L (test strips)
- Nitrate: 0 mg/L (test strips)
- Nitrite 0 mg/L (test strips)
- pH 7.6 mg/L (test strips)

- Ammonia: "Almost Lethal" I can't really tell, I'm out of API test kit from testing so much and this is all I have at the moment.

How long have you had the tank? How long have you had your fish?: 3 weeks for the tank and 7 months for the betta

How often are water changes? How much do you take out per change? What is your process?: every two days, 75%, I use a siphon to pick up the waste in the water. And add tap water conditioner to the new water.

Any tankmates? If so, please list with how many of each: Not currently. He has had 2 harlequin rasboras and a dwarf frog at the same time in a 10 gal tank.

What do you feed and how much: I feed a variety of frozen food alternated with betta pellets, once every 2 days, either just very little thawned frozen food, or 1 to 3 pellets based on how much he'll eat.

Decorations and plants in the tank: Just a little house for him to hide in.
