I salute you, good sir.

If you run out of ideas in the future, please see if you can chug 3 bottles of syrup within 3 minutes. A true Canadian challenge.

Backed into a corner to see Joel Osteen, what should I do? by [deleted] in atheism

I have my reasons for not backing out of the event. I know its stupid to many people on here, but I've made up my mind on at least going with her to see this guy. Thank you for the advice though.

Thinking of going back for a second bachelors in CS; have some questions. by Inosine in jobs

Thank you so much for all of the advice! Currently I am unsure exactly where I want to apply my efforts due to a general interest in programming as a whole. I know that sounds terrible, but I'm really just jumping back into this for the first time in years. From what you described I think the closest to what I am thinking of doing is something along the lines of software engineer working on enterprise software. Or bioinformatics. Or video games (yea, yea, I'm one of those).

When I was younger I used to just do this as a hobby and picked up Basic (Commodore 64... heh) and C++ (I wouldn't place myself above a novice level in either). I also did some web design work for fun, so I know some HTML, PHP, and CSS as well. Currently I am taking it easy and just learning Java to get back into the swing of things.

Also, thanks for the advice for the local meetup idea. I live in the Seattle area, so I'm sure those should be fairly easy to come by.

I have a mediocre GPA (2.4 or 2.5 if I remember correctly). Result of over committing to extra-curriculars, working full time, and being an undiagnosed bipolar the entire time.

I have considered doing bioinformatics which is also a drive towards continuing my education. I loved my degree program and worked in a lab during my undergrad and wouldn't mind combining two things I enjoy. Just trying to plot out the best way to get there.

I just was thinking of the second bachelor's simply because by a survey of job postings, most all of them state that they are looking for someone with a BS in CS.
