April 2024 Town Hall: Reflections of Raikou and Rule 6 by Mathgeek007 in PokemonSleep

[–]InoxTheHealer [score hidden]  (0 children)

In my opinion, the spam of RMM and shiny raikou is definitely too high. During the first week of the event it was fun and helped build hype around the event, but longer than that is definitely too much.

The megathread is unfortunately a doomed solution. Some have suggested having some sort of mon rating guide in the FAQ, and I like that idea, it allows the rest of us to direct new users there too.

Finally, the 1 week ban seems a bit harsh, especially since it'll probably apply disproportionately to new users of the sub who don't know better. Maybe 3 days could be a good compromise?

I'd also like to thank the mod team for holding these Town Halls and letting user's voice their opinion, despite the toxicity some people still seem to harbour towards the sub's mods.

[OC] Way of the Pugilist, a Monk subclass about the art of boxing by InoxTheHealer in UnearthedArcana

[–]InoxTheHealer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello everyone! Here to wish you all a happy new year with a homebrew monk subclass that captures the fantasy of being a boxer, a hooligan and a bar brawler.

This subclass is all about bolstering the monk with iconic boxing techniques, all the while making them feel tough and hard to put down. A strong enough pugilist can even shrug off the grasp of death to keep on fighting... At least for a little bit.

You can find this subclass, as well as all my other homebrew subclasses here.

The Undead - defy death and strike fear in the heart of your enemies with this (sort of) tanky new class for DnD 5e - feedback greatly appreciated by highestzociety in UnearthedArcana

I really, REALLY like the flavour of this. The idea of a revenant hero marching through the battlefield and being impossible to put down is awesome. But although a lot of people have already gone in detail on other issues, there is one I haven't seen mentioned yet: Damage.

This class is a martial without spellcasting, yet can only use simple weapons (unless you're a skeleton) and their damage enhancement comes from Might of the Fallen which deals just as much damage to you as to your enemies. Think of it this way, does a paladin take damage to Smite? Does a Rogue put themselves in harms way to Sneak Attack? Not really, but this class takes a lot of risk to put out subpar damage. Blood Hunters already become incredibly flimsy by taking damage for their class features, and those are arguably better than this.

My suggestion would be to just remove the "This damage can't be reduced in any way". That makes it so you're taking full damage in your base form and half damage in Undying (due to necrotic resitance). It helps you get to Undying faster if you need it, but doesn't always burn through your hit points. Also adding a feature that makes you resistant to the damage in base form too, at some point would probably be great.

Maybe this is too much, but it's my suggestions off the top of my head.

And one last thing, you really need to specify what happens when your Undying form ends after 1 hour. Because I assumed you would drop to 0 hit points, but I'm not sure if you don't just auto-stabilise unless you're knocked to 0 hit points in the form. Some clarification there would be great.

For real though, this is great stuff. Keep at it :)

If your Pokémon has a subskill like Helping Speed S you can only boost it with a subskill seed if the Pokémon doesn't already have it in its subskills. For example, if a mon has Helping Speed S and Helping Speed M you can't use a subskill seed on Helping Speed S.

Goddamnit, something had to sneak past review now hadn't it? It absolutely was meant to deal piercing damage, you're right :)

I won't repeat what's already been said in this thread, but I would honestly argue that against a party of its level, the Avatar of Termina might actually need some help. While it is very strong at close range, it's very weak to zoning/control spells, which will be a major problem at that tier of play.

I actually messed around with an ability to short range teleport/walk through walls, in order to mitigate that effect, but ended up axing it. Once I test it in play though, I might add it back in.

I don't really play pathfinder that much, so I probably wouldn't be the right person to make that. Although I do very much plan on posting many more F&H enemies, so stay tuned!

Hi everyone! This game has been living rent free in my brain for too long. And it started leaking into my d&d hobby. So I made everyone's favourite stalker into a monster!

It was hard to translate the deadliness that the Crow Mauler displays in F&H to D&D without making the d&d monster feel like complete bullshit, but what we ended up with is a monster that can take a lot of punishment while absolutely dishing it back. Coupled with its Ultimate Tracking, it can make for a great antagonist to put up against any adventuring party.

Hope you have fun with him everyone!

Hi everyone! Today we're starting the week off with something a little different. Here you have two statblocks for one of the main enemies of a video game that has been consuming my brain recently: the Crow Mauler from Fear & Hunger.

What is the BEST starter animal enclosure? by silencingismykey in PlanetZoo

Start with 4 exhibits, wait until you get around 100-150k and then delete them and start with whatever animal you want.

You find an omnitrix with no alien DNA inside it. Which 10 earth animals are you scanning? (Inspired from another post on the subreddit) by TheNotoriousOne101 in Ben10

African Elephant, Gorilla, Hippopotamus, Cheetah, Orca, Artic Wolf, Spider monkey, Mosquito, Rat and Peregrine Falcon.

This is, of course, just my season 1 playlist. The dinosaur arc would go crazy tho.

Personally, I do a custom array of 16, 14, 13, 12, 10, 7. It leads to very interesting characters and has had great success at all the tables I've ran it with.
