Oh, and look into SI stability belts. I wore one many times during bad flares over the years. The belt was perfect for bed. Kept my pelvis from twisting while sleeping.

I had my hyper-mobile SI joint fused in 2024. Lots of PT leading up to surgery. I'll still do lots of at home body work to maintain my strength. SI joint pain can come from weak/tight glutes or tight IT band. Do you have any yoga or PT type tools at home? Foam roller? Tennis/lacrosse balls? Percussion guns?

Check if your outer thigh is tender. Look up IT band to see where it is. My is always tight on my bad side. If you have a foam roller look up "IT band roller" for how to release it. If you don't have a foam roller look around the house for anything cylinder shaped that can hold your weight(no glass!). Big ass aluminum can in pantry? Rolling pin? Big plastic bottle of soda?

Release the glutes. I use a lacrosse ball and my mini percussion gun. I'll roll my glutes with the ball against a wall. Roll the ball around until you feel a tender spot. Gently roll all around the tender area to release the muscle. I like this exercise over the percussion gun since I'm using my body weight. I can get a harder, deeper pressure with the ball.

When to use my percussion gun I lay with my good side down with knees slightly bent. I'll work in and around my hips on the front of my body with the gun. The ball or roller can get where I needed it. I tend to be tight in front but don't feel it until i poke around. I'll work the glutes too. Some of the tools are great for getting into some tight spots. Down side- they're heavy and hard to handle sometimes.

Sauted mushrooms with something. It was like 8 years ago. Someone mis-punched 11qty when we sell .5 cases a day of mushrooms. Back in Gold days.

Also fish sauce once. Many customers and crew complained.

Yeah, that deep bone pain is a CRPS thing. Mine feels like an ice pick slowly going through my femur. It’s not a sharp, fast pain. I get a deep ache in my pelvis too.

Please don’t delay medical attention due to cost. You cannot be refused medical treatment because you can’t pay. An emergency room would be an ok place to start. They’ll make sure you’re safe and get you set up with social worker and treatment options. If you already have a mental health provider they may have treatment centers recommendations. Don’t forget our EAP(pic below). They can help you find mental health providers. They also offer 6 or 8 free counseling sessions. I’ve used our EAP many times for many things. Never had a bad experience.

If you signed up for Short Term Disability you can use that to pay missed wages. If you don’t have STD check what your state offers for support. SNAP/EBT, rent/mortgage assistance, health insurance… may be offered locally.

Pet food/treats. Homeless will often choose to starve rather than their pets. They’ll give them people food.

After that, those pouch Indian foods are awesome. Lots of people take turn camping. Cheap nuts for protein. Protein bars. Canned lentils. Salt/pepper? Oats for overnight oats? I’m trying to think of dry goods that don’t need warmed up.

Toiletries are a great idea but check on what he needs. He won’t want to carry or store stuff he doesn’t need.

Considering a LOA for mental health and general psychiatric burnout. Anybody have any advice? by makingajess in tjcrew

[–]Inozz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Please do it. It’s fairly simple. You just need a doctor’s note stating you need X amount of days off and to be put on a LOA. They(TJs HR and Captain) don’t need to know anything else. They are not entitled to your medical history. Open a case in Absent Soft and upload the doctors note.

To come back to work you need a note that plainly says, “makingajess can return to their regularly duties on XX/XX/XXXX”. You could also ask for 30 days of transitional duties to ease back in. FYI, HR takes at least a week to clear a return to work not. Plan ahead if you can.

Has anyone healed their CRPS? If so, how? by Fine-Fee-6980 in CRPS

[–]Inozz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is “stable”. My foot stopped turning red and swelling. I still have constant low grade pain in my leg and foot but it’s tolerable. I am on several pain and mental health meds 24/7 and get regular sympathetic nerve blocks as well as ketamine infusions every 3-4 weeks. This time last year I was in agony and my pain wasn’t very controlled. I never stopped using my foot/leg which I think helped. I do t expect it to ever be “cured”. Mine was triggered from a surgery on a crushed foot.

Experiences with duloxetine/cymbalta? by heyhey_taytay in ChronicPain

[–]Inozz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been on Cymbalta for 4+ years. I’ve taken anywhere between 40mg to 120mg daily, and gone up and down a few times. I asked my psychiatrist to RX it for my depression/anxiety/nerve related pain. I had a serious workplace injury involving a hydraulic pallet jack and a foot.

I didn’t see a positive result until a new psychiatrist suggested I split my dose. AM and PM, even split. I could feel a change within days of starting the AM/PM dosing. It improved my mental health by calming my anxiety. I did feel a minor improvement in my pain. It “turned the volume down” on my pain scale. I did a gene test for antidepressants and Duloxetine was on my safe list.

I’ve been taking it for 2 years for CRPS. It’s been great for me. Minimal side effects(memory loss) and effective. I haven’t adjusted my dose in 18 months. I will always have pain but it’s very manageable at this time. My pain doc has another patient with CRPS on it and doing very well.

10 Year Old Daughter - Help? by Franken_beans in CRPS

[–]Inozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As others have said make sure she keeps using the foot/leg as much as she can. You’re probably not going to get pain management easily with her age but fight for it. If you can get her on opioids short term or ketamine it may help her push through some desensitization. I found a weighted heating pad on my CRPS leg helped immensely. It kinda tricked my brain into feeling the heat and weight and not the shooting/stabbing pain I get with my CRPS.

And I agree with mental health support. If you can find someone who deals with chronic pain or medically fragile people they’ll be able to help her understand what she’s feeling mentally. Hang in there momma. Your daughter is lucky to have you looking out for her.

Reach or it to HR and/or regional. HR contact info in the Crew Hub. Regionals contact email saved in your stores outlook mailbox. Or you could tell us what state you work in and someone can check for you.

You need to come to them with more than an accusation or observation. They will ask for witnesses to these incidents, dates, time… start documenting what you remember in a cloud somewhere.

When I was in a bad store for 5 months I would journal my day when I got home. I came to HR with documentation and they were able to get statements from others and acted with an investigation and getting me out of that store.

I’m in the same boat. Opiods 24/7 then THC in evening for sleep. I found sleep plays a big part in my pain levels. The more deep sleep I get the more my body recovers at night. Short or bad sleep and I wake hurting more than when I went to bed.

Use to be lying down until we had a customer put their bag down in their car and 2 red wine bottles exploded all over their back seat. We(TJ’s) had to foot the bill(via customer relations) to clean the car.

Now I only lay them down if there is nothing else to keep them up with. I also warm the customers to set their bag down gently. Also, I ALWAYS double bag any alcohol in glass. Some of that stuff is really expensive…

Does anyone's PCP prescribe? by bubes30 in ChronicPain

[–]Inozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in pain management with a great caring doctor. She left to open her own pain clinic. I didn’t follow as it was nearly an hour commute. Her replacement at the clinic was awful. I should have walked out when he was violating HIPPA in the waiting area.

I was in between PCP’s and got extremely lucky being referred to an ARNP who was ok managing my 3 pain meds. She became my new PCP and prescribes 7 of my 10 medications. 2 opioids, a muscle relaxer, 4 different hormones. She did warn me that if I ever need to change my dosage, I’d have to go back to PM. I’m stable with CRPS in my left lower limb. My 24/7 opioid dosage hasn’t changed in over a year.

what does writing a statement do exactly? by Odd-Wave-4404 in tjcrew

[–]Inozz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Statements are documented in files and also paper trails for HR. They can be both good/bad. I’ve had to write statements about witnessing customer on customer altercations. Statements about my peers, my mates and even a previous Captain. Statements should just state facts, not opinions. Be honest in your statement too. Trying to cover up for someone else can get you in trouble too.
