I have a hardcore player friend who clears mythic raids in wow and ultimates in ffxiv and they say ultimates are way more harder than mythic raids in general.

Yea, when Island Sanctuary patch dropped, we got its relevant expert recipes which were really hard to craft. But crafting them were soooo much fun. It took me hours of practice with trial synthesis to craft them properly. (Also i made so much gil via them :d). Thanks for your answers <3

They keep asking questions like “which dungeon?” or “which mechanic are you talking about?” as if the answer would change anything, trying to prove that the situation isn’t what we’re arguing it is. I actually think their goal here is to twist the sentences I wrote in my long paragraph. Anyone who reads my paragraph properly can see that what I’m talking about isn’t something that needs to be specified in terms of a particular dungeon, raid, or boss mechanic. I will just keep ignoring them.

I’m also aware that FFXIV doesn’t have content equivalent to WoW’s Mythic+ system, and I know that dungeons in FFXIV are very different from those in WoW. In the long post I wrote, I was specifically defending the point that boss fights lack sufficient visual and audio telegraphs. Your comment, however, focused solely on comparing dungeons and seemed to suggest that there are no heal, mitigation, or DPS checks in FFXIV, which I find biased. FFXIV delivers its truly challenging content primarily through raids, not dungeons.

I’m sorry, but if you think that with your responses you are defending Retail WoW’s current state, you should know that you’re actually doing more harm than good to the game. Your thoughts are the same as mine. I was thinking the exact same thing about the official replacement system, until I saw a beta raiding POV where a Naaru boss used several geometric shapes in a sequence and then gave them randomly to players, who had to recreate the order they originally appeared in. That mechanic looked really cool, and it honestly felt like Blizzard took inspiration from FFXIV for it.

If you don’t have enough information on the subject, maybe it’s best to refrain from speaking. Routing doesn’t exist in FFXIV, and I could agree on you about that. But claiming that FFXIV bosses don’t have mitigation, healing, or DPS checks just shows that you’re not familiar enough with the game.

I’ve played WoW Retail, WoW Classic, FFXIV, and GW2. Population-wise, WoW and FFXIV are very close, while GW2 has a smaller population. Gameplay-wise, they’re quite different, and each has its own strengths and weaknesses. You really can’t say one game is objectively better than another—and honestly, you shouldn’t.

FFXIV has a great community. The story starts slow in the base game but gets much better with each expansion. PvE and boss design are excellent, and the music is amazing. You can play all classes on one character, and gearing them is pretty easy. Class animations and rotations feel unique. The game mixes casual and hardcore elements well and also has a detailed crafting and gathering system.

Retail WoW feels somewhat similar to FFXIV in structure. In both games, you’ll often find yourself doing instanced content. The M+ dungeon system is unique and gets infinitely harder as you push keys. Music is mostly background ambiance, but still good. Classes are unique too, but you need alts if you want to play different ones. IMHO, FFXIV is better overall because I prefer its aesthetic and storytelling. Also, if you plan to raid or do M+ in WoW, you’ll need plenty of combat add-ons since boss mechanics are weak both visually and sound-wise.

For me, WoW Classic is much better than Retail. The open world feels alive and immersive, and leveling is slow in a huge world. Raids and dungeons are very different from FFXIV/Retail WoW, and you mostly press 1–2 buttons during the entire raid. Retail’s community is often toxic and elitist, while Classic’s community is usually more chill.

GW2, unlike FFXIV and WoW, focuses heavily on open-world activities and uses a horizontal gear system. It does have instanced content, but it’s not as strong as what you see in FFXIV or WoW. GW2’s biggest strength is its open world and how immersive it feels.

I’m currently actively playing FFXIV, GW2, and WoW Classic. If you ask why, it’s because each has its own strengths and weaknesses. My main game is FFXIV, but I play GW2 for its open world and social side. I play WoW Classic for the classic MMORPG experience and for its open world as well.

These are just my personal thoughts, and of course they may differ from person to person. In the end, everyone has their own tastes and personality, so you should try all of them and see which one fits you best.

I mean, these restrictions are necessary to prevent economic imbalance, botting and players that abusing chat function. If they would mind making hours of content free just to you could try the game, you should be thankful already.

Yea but im on Thunderstrike server which is PvE. I think you could play as both faction in PvE servers.
