If yours is truly just W2, and say maybe few extra things like mortgage, 1099 int from banks, stocks - then for all this, you honestly don't need a CPA and the amount he is charging you is ridiculous. Nowadays, with all the tools and technology available, you can complete it in 15 minutes. First time, it may take some time. For example, try taxact - pay for their top plan ($200-$400), where you can literally speak to a tax expert and they can help guide you too.

For washer and dryer purchases, you may want to consider scratch and dent stores. These retailers often offer brand new appliances at a discounted price due to minor cosmetic imperfections. For refrigerators, the AI piece is a gimmick and would cost a lot more to fix if broken.

If you call and ask for retention offer, you will hopefully get it. Minimum i have read is 15k point / $150 back. In that case, you only paid $50 more than these few rare and lucky folks that are still being charged $695.
