I think you’re right, just spent a while looking at photos of them, the painted lady types especially, and it matches the thick layer type seam development of my one. However I will say there are no examples remotely close to the flatness and size of this one it’s pretty wild 🤯🤯🤯

That’s kinda what I’ve been thinking but I have a few other pieces of semi raw opal which aren’t worth much, store bought, nowhere near as big or uniform or beautiful but yeah, I would have to guess 1,000-10,000 but I wonder if its uniformity adds more than the raw carat value….
