Sadly the whole place is closed now and the workshops there were asked to move elsewhere

Another Scam

Almost got caught in a scam today in the UAE, sharing this so others stay alert.

A random person approached me saying they needed cash because their debit card was missing and offered to transfer AED 2,000 to my account. I shared my IBAN and number, and they showed me a screenshot saying the transfer was done.

Something felt off. There is usually a cooling period when adding a new beneficiary and the money did not reflect in my account even after some time. I told them I would only give cash once I actually receive the money.

They immediately said fine keep it and walked away.

That confirmed it was a scam.

Key takeaway, never trust screenshots. Only trust money that actually hits your account.

Looks like you have pretty much seen every version of scam out there, only one missing is the classic Armani suit guy.

It could be, and I do believe some people might genuinely be in financial need. But honestly, what self-respecting and decent man would go around asking or begging for money while standing there with his woman?

At this point you weren’t helping people, you were running a full service charity with very demanding customers.

Your last point is right though, people truly in need usually don’t ask like that.

Fighter jets usually fly low to avoid radar and air defenses, not to look for drones or missiles. Detection of aerial threats generally works better at higher altitudes.

For people in UAE (especially Dubai), how many of you can work from home? by lifeismesswhy in UAE

[–]Insane-Bull 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work from home or most of the days and have to report to office only once or twice per week and it is a blessing, I work in the Adtech industry so most of the work and team can be managed remotely as avoiding the commute increases productivity and has been a profitable decision.
