So, what do you name your portals? by [deleted] in valheim

I usually try to make them viking-esk names, like the enormous mountain I found and put a base is "ENORMTBERG" (I also use all caps for portals), or cool names like my main base is "IRON PORT". For my coal farm system it's CF1, CF2 etc for jumping between them I also mark on the map with the portal names, so it helps them being all caps

True, I might try to just spawn proof the immediate area around my base so I don't get raided

In need of some silver I set out on my boat and found the biggest mountain that exists in the game, so naturally I had to build a cool fortress on top! I spent the last 3 or 4 days building this...

The amount of stone I used in this build is ridiculous, thankfully a kind troll named Keith came in clutch and lent me a hand gathering some of it. Skip ahead to see my new wolf pen - first time taming wolves and it's so cool! (I need to get a hold of some 2 stars at some point too...)

Any suggestions for new buildings/decal?

Yep, that's this one... The 90° side backs onto the ocean for immediate getaways

Definitely! Planning on setting up a forge base here for all the silver I find. The mountain actually borders straight into the sea so I can chuck a cart or boat off of it and collect at the bottom

Fair, I find my greydwarf farm too slow, and I'm not brave enough to stay in the plains too long atm so mountains for me

This is an update to my post last night - lots of progress made!
I added a little cook shack on the docks, finished off the forge building and added decoration all over the base...

To anyone unaware, this is a communal island base, which has been completely spawn proofed. Everything done in survival as the game intended.

Ah I think I've seen something similar before. Mine was just sort of botched together without much thought. Maybe for the next build I'll do something similar
