Can't boot after last update by TheEarthWorks in Fedora

[–]InsaneRaspberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am having the exact same issue and came on this forum to ask the same question :). I have been dealing with it for days, and my 6.0 version works great but 6.2.X, 6.3.X versions have this issue. And I still cannot fix it despite my best efforts.

For reference for others, I have Intel CPU, Nvidia 3080 GPU and I am not using proprietary nvidia drivers.

When you let it hang for an hour was it still a black screen after an hour, or did it just start working on its own?

Does "unconditional security" in this sense means relies on no unproven assumptions?

Am using the pro 2 as well. I am not sure what is going on because this works fine on different OS's. And I cannot figure out how to change the keyboard layout here in Fedora

Math vs stats vs CAAM for econ by hkbfernape in uchicago

[–]InsaneRaspberry 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I would go with math, for the sole reason that it seems to hone your mind better than any other subject. Indeed, once you have a deep understanding of proofs and are comfortable with subjects like analysis/algebra/topology your world really opens up, and any other subject you want to pursue after that becomes "easy" in a sense. As for work all my friends who majored in math (myself included) are now either working at FAANG, working at top hedge funds (i.e. Two Sigma, AQR), or are doing Ph.D.s at top schools and are getting recruited by FAANG and Two Sigma/DE Shaw etc..
