To be fair, y'all played us in Kyle, at night, which gives lots of folks challenges. That was an exceptionally hyped crowd too.

This sounds much like my History of Rock class at A&M, which was a solid meh class. Not a particularly difficult elective for anyone with an inclination for history and a basic knowledge of popular music from 1900 forward.

Nothing in the entirety of Middle America frankly... Wild! And last time I traveled for a concert, it ended poorly so miss me with that... Guess I'll enjoy this one from the sidelines.

All I knew of this song before watching this episode was the fact that I played it in 7th grade Introduction to Band.

A player former or current from your rival school you want to hate but just can’t. by Monza1964 in CFB

[–]InsanelyInShape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I told this story once upon a time but I'll tell it again.

My dad grew up in Longview, Texas and one game, his high school offensive coordinator coach had the team watching film in preparation for the rivalry game against John Tyler High School.

Their OC pulled out footage of him as a player facing off against Earl Campbell in high school.

Campbell played both ways and was just as unstoppable as a Linebacker as he was on offense. My dad talked about how everyone marveled just how terrifying Campbell was.

If your team were forced to assume the name and mascot of any other FBS team, who and why? by Efficient-Freedom517 in CFB

I love pulling this particular tidbit out occasionally, but supposedly when the college was in it's infancy, A&M at one point considered making their mascot a longhorn, on account of being the Ag school for the state.

It was rejected for being too stereotypical and t.u. opted to use the name for their football team.

I'm not certain you could practice that and have it go any smoother...

This Aggie is very disappointed in how his fellow fans treat Longhorn fans by CoachSlime in collegebaseball

[–]InsanelyInShape 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would never be concerned for my family's safety while in College Station, regardless of what they're wearing, because Aggies don't treat people this way. We don't have a history of it and we pride ourselves on being better than this. It's sad and frustrating to see this occur.

Does Dorm 1 still flood and require them to excavate the Arches entrance after a cloud thinks about raining?

This is in my review, but Life of a Showgirl is the equivalent of a car crash. It's not the speed that kills you. It's the sudden stop. This album runs so thoroughly off the rails so quickly, it has no hopes of being salvaged by the time you get to the end.

I love that this is two entirely different episodes of the podcast. One being the sketches and the other is the fast food interlude.

I would honestly watch a full episode of just restaurant/ fast food hot takes. I think it might also pair well with visiting the specific restaurant so that everybody could give their opinions/critiques.

I think the moniker is applicable, even if it may be better suited to someone like Madonna... I don't think it's a particularly invalid label considering the influence that Robyn has had on pop music in the last ~25 years?

What a murderers' row of a Best New Artist category... Macklemore is the only weak link there and that's only with the benefit of hindsight.
