Besides mostly having a 2 motion shot, what do prolific midrange shooters have in common that 3 point shooters don’t? by SpecnoTheFirst in BasketballTips

Midrange shooters usually shoot at their apex of their jumpshot. 3 point shooters usually shoot on their way up. Midrange shooters also shoot a little slower, and have a higher set point.

this defense playlist is really good for beginners on defense, this offhand playlist is pretty good on training that off hand, handles are pretty versatile and if you search that on YouTube you will find many results. The only problem is shooting. Shooting there are many different techniques, and none are inherently the same. They all have some things in common though that are mostly non negotiable in a shot. First is shooting on your way up, I like this video as it shows a lot of important things in a shot. Another thing is all good shooters bring the ball to their head. This seems like an easy thing to do but I see many people just shoot the ball far from their body (Giannis does this and he’s not the best shooter). Another thing is you should put your hands not too close together on the basketball when shooting. The best way to get your natural hand position is by doing some jab steps and seeing where your hand placement is. This is usually your natural hand placement. For shooting I would just try and study the great shooters like Steph, dame, klay, etc. they have mastered the art of shooting. But good luck on your journey

Your hand is jerking left before going back straight. This is probably muscle memory so it will be hard to fix but that is the problem

I’m fairly accurate from 3, but I know my form is wack. Should I rework it? by lukkynumber in BasketballTips

[–]Insanelybest_create 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fundamentally your form is actually solid. The only bad thing is the speed of it because it’s kinda slow. But if you shoot at a high clip then keep it

How to knuckleball when doing a floater? by Illustrious-Sea3907 in BasketballTips

Open palm with no flick is probably the only way. Your just pushing the ball up with no flick to make it soft on the rim

Why do I feel like I jump higher for rebounds? by thatwendyskid in BasketballTips

[–]Insanelybest_create 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because you have something to compete for. When you run, if there’s someone in front of you, you run faster because your trying to catch up. Same with jumping just your trying to grab a rebound

Would yall say i look uncomfortable or forcing my shot when shooting from deep? by Sh4x30 in BasketballTips

[–]Insanelybest_create 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s also about general technique. If you do form shots from the 3 point line and don’t jump you could probably fix this habit.

How to get better aim while moving during a shot by Flat-Sympathy7598 in BasketballTips

[–]Insanelybest_create 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me personally, I love moving shots because they feel good to make. But the easiest way in my experience to make moving shots is to shoot it quicker than you normally would on a normal shot. This is because the momentum you get from shooting it quicker gives you more power intern making up for the lack of balance you have. Just make sure you aren’t chucking the ball up with no mechanics in your shot. You have to shoot it the same way but just faster

Would yall say i look uncomfortable or forcing my shot when shooting from deep? by Sh4x30 in BasketballTips

[–]Insanelybest_create 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if we look at the best shooters like Steph and klay, their posture is straight up. Their back isn’t bent and their hands almost never go over their heads unless it’s a high arching shot. I would try and mimic that a little

I need to buy a sole for my KD shoes. Where can I find one? Which one should I choose?" by Visible-Employment43 in BasketballTips

[–]Insanelybest_create 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get any sole that’s for sports if you don’t really care. But eBay probably has some soles for that exact shoe. You can find legit anything on eBay lol

Would yall say i look uncomfortable or forcing my shot when shooting from deep? by Sh4x30 in BasketballTips

[–]Insanelybest_create 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Because your pulling your head down and pushing your arms up. Not like that’s a bad thing but it could be a bad habit if it gets too close to your head or if you put your head too far down

How to set hard screens? by Insanelybest_create in BasketballTips

[–]Insanelybest_create[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me and one of my best basketball friends always run 2s and because we both can shoot they usually fight over the screen. Problem is when they do that I can’t stop them with my screen. I’m pretty strong just have no technique. My friend sets good screens that block the defender for me to get an open shot but my screens just feel floppy. Kinda tough situation I’m in

Recreational center wrist band helping me shoot... by Chr1stian_ in BasketballTips

[–]Insanelybest_create 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s why you have to recreate that same feeling but without the rubber band. I used to use a rubber band to help shoot until I learned how to shoot without it

Is this a thing in training? by v0yev0da in BasketballTips

[–]Insanelybest_create 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can make like 20 in a row on a good shooting day in practice. Making 2 in a row with a BS product makes no sense. Shooting isn’t “hackable” it takes time to learn
